The Sona Comstar IIT Delhi Innovation Program (SCIDIP) is a strategic initiative designed to foster and accelerate innovative solutions within the Electric Mobility, Advanced Batteries, Industry 4.0, Advanced Materials, Charging Infrastructure, and Sustainable Mobility sectors. The program offers significant financial support in the form of a grant-in-aid of up to ₹80 Lakhs per startup, disbursed in multiple tranches based on the achievement of pre-defined milestones over a 24-month incubation period. This non-dilutive funding is intended to cover essential project costs including equipment, human resources, consumables, contingency, outsourcing, and patent filing fees.
Beyond funding, selected startups receive comprehensive incubation support, including physical incubation space and facilities as per IIT Delhi norms. Entrepreneurs benefit from technical advice and mentorship from IIT Delhi faculties, who can serve as scientific advisors. FITT organizes periodic events for learning, visibility, and networking, alongside business mentorship programs and workshops to refine business plans and market strategies. Additionally, the FITT IP Cell provides assistance with IP-related services, and innovators gain crucial connections to FITT's network of investors and VCs, facilitating future fundraising efforts.

चयन प्रक्रिया
The selection process involves a multi-stage evaluation:
First Level Selection: A technical expert committee, comprising representatives from academia, research, and predominantly industry, conducts the initial screening. Proposals are evaluated based on technical innovation, feasibility, technology readiness level, and preliminary technical data.
Second Round (Presentation): Shortlisted candidates from the first round are invited to present their techno-commercial plans. This selection committee includes representation from industry, financial bodies, investors, and FITT. Evaluation in this round focuses on technical strength, entrepreneurial intent, the strength of intellectual property, team capabilities, and the overall business plan.
Due Diligence: FITT conducts a thorough due diligence process for selected applicants. This includes reconfirming eligibility, legal, technical, and financial assessments, ensuring access to necessary resources, compliance with safety and EHS requirements, and budget justifications. Milestones and payment schedules are finalized, and agreements are signed with the incubatees.
