Nirmith 2026 is a national-level Ideathon hosted by the IoTronics Club at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) in Bangalore. This competition is designed to bring together student innovators from across India, challenging them to conceptualize and present impactful solutions to real-world problems.
Who Should Apply
This Ideathon is open to all undergraduate students (1st to 4th year) across India, regardless of their branch or discipline. Inter-college and inter-specialization teams are highly encouraged, fostering diverse perspectives and collaborative innovation. Teams should consist of 3 to 4 members.
Competition Format
The Ideathon will be conducted in two rounds, both taking place on April 28th, 2026:
Round 1: On-Spot Ideation & Submission
Teams will receive access to all competition themes at the start of the event. After selecting a theme and registering it, teams will have 1.5 hours to identify a problem, develop a solution, and prepare a presentation (PPT) using a provided template. Submissions must be made within the given time.
Shortlisting
Approximately 15 teams will be shortlisted based on their Round 1 submissions to proceed to the final round.
Round 2: Final Presentation
Shortlisted teams will present their ideas to a distinguished panel of judges. Each team will have 5–7 minutes for their presentation, followed by a 2–3 minute Q&A session. Evaluation criteria include problem clarity, innovation, technical feasibility, business viability, scalability, and presentation clarity.
Prizes
Nirmith'26 offers a total cash prize pool of ₹50,000, distributed among the top three teams:
- Winner (1st Position): ₹25,000
- First Runner-Up (2nd Position): ₹15,000
- Second Runner-Up (3rd Position): ₹10,000
Eligibility
Open to all undergraduate students (1st to 4th year) from any discipline across India. Teams must comprise 3 to 4 members. Inter-college and inter-specialization teams are permitted.
How to Apply
Registration for Nirmith'26 closes on April 26th, 2026. Participants are expected to bring their own laptops for the event. Solutions must demonstrate clear implementation logic and real-world relevance.
