The program is structured into three distinct phases: The Crucible, The Accelerator, and Build & Scale, covering everything from comprehensive diagnostics and roadmap building to intensive micro-sprints and strategic scale-up. IKP ARK is explicitly not for ideation-stage ventures, software, or consumer tech; it targets deep science ventures at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 3 or higher that are committed to commercializing their science. By embedding regulatory, engineering, manufacturing, and commercialization expertise, IKP ARK aims to retire every commercial risk, providing startups with the necessary firepower to achieve market readiness and secure further investment.

The selection process for IKP ARK is integrated into the initial "The Crucible" phase of the program. After initial screening of applications or direct outreach, shortlisted ventures will participate in a 5+1 day residential diagnostic at IKP Bangalore. During this phase, IKP leads structured diagnostic interviews across seven key stack elements to identify gaps and score risks. This is followed by a roadmap building exercise led by IKP's embedded specialists. On Blueprint Day (Day 6), both the startup and IKP will sign a Venture Blueprint, committing to Phase 2, or decide to part ways if alignment is not achieved. This rigorous initial phase serves as a comprehensive selection and onboarding mechanism.
