Track record
What AIC Shiv Nadar University reports about its portfolio.
These are the centre's own published figures and carry no date. Its portfolio page says more than 100 startups incubated and 52 currently active, while the named list on that same page runs to 88 companies — read them as orders of magnitude, not counts. The outreach figure counts people reached at events, not startups taken in.
Figures as marked — snu.edu.in, as of Sept 2026.
Programmes they run
Standing programmes at AIC Shiv Nadar University, separate from the funding calls above.
Only the Incubation line and the Venture Challenge are described in any detail on the centre's site. Pre Incubation, Acceleration and a Short Term line with an investment, women-startup and corporate-innovation sub-track are named with a line or two each and have no pages behind them, so treat those as directions the centre says it works in rather than programmes with published terms. Several Venture Challenge edition pages are blank. None of the programmes publishes a fee or an equity policy, so ask before you assume either way.
Incubation
IncubationThe centre's core programme: structured mentoring, office space, software credits, networking and investor introductions for selected startups.
Best for: Early-stage startups, mostly hardware and deep tech, that want space, mentoring and investor introductions in Delhi NCR
- Prototype – Early revenue
- In person
With Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, HCL, Dassault Systemes, Indian Angel Network, Agility Ventures
What you get, who can apply and how to applyHide details
This is the main way in. Selected startups get a desk at the centre, a mentor panel, and introductions to the centre's corporate and investor network.
What you get
- Office space and a co-working environment at the centre
- Structured mentoring from the centre's mentor panel
- Software, apps and startup credits from partners including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, DigitalOcean, Zoho, Zendesk, Retool and Tally
- Business networking and introductions to investors
- Access to Shiv Nadar University's labs and equipment for building and testing
- Legal and accounting support, intellectual property help and interns when you need extra hands
Who can apply
- Any startup — the centre does not limit this to university students or staff
- Sole proprietorships, LLPs, private limited companies, foreign-collaboration entities, and startups that have not registered yet
- Deep-tech and hardware ventures are the stated focus, but the portfolio spans software, edtech and consumer too
How selection works: the centre says it judges the novelty of the idea, how compelling the solution is, scalability potential, and whether the team is well rounded.
How to apply: fill the Apply as a Startup form on the centre's Join Us page with your founder and startup details and upload your pitch or business plan as a PDF. There is no deadline on the form. If you want to check fit first, write to contact.AIC@snu.edu.in.
Pre Incubation
IncubationAn earlier-stage entry point for people with a conceptual business idea rather than a built product.
Best for: People with an innovative business idea who have not built or incorporated anything yet
- Idea
What you get, who can apply and how to applyHide details
The centre describes Pre Incubation as the line that builds its pipeline and encourages entrepreneurship, aimed at conceptual, innovative business ideas.
It is named on the centre's site but has no page of its own, and no duration, intake dates or terms are published for it.
How to apply: use the same Apply as a Startup form on the Join Us page and describe where your idea actually is.
Acceleration
AcceleratorFor startups already past early traction that want to scale towards a pre-Series A or Series A round.
Best for: Startups with traction preparing to raise a pre-Series A or Series A round
- Early revenue – Growth
With Indian Angel Network, Agility Ventures
What you get, who can apply and how to applyHide details
The centre's acceleration line is aimed at what it calls high-worth startups: companies looking to expand and grow, with a pre-Series A or Series A round as the goal.
It is named on the centre's site but has no page of its own, and no cohort dates, duration or terms are published for it. The investor side is served by the centre's InvestoNet platform and by investor partners including Indian Angel Network and Agility Ventures.
How to apply: through the Apply as a Startup form on the Join Us page.
The Venture Challenge
CompetitionA recurring closed-door pitch competition the centre uses to select startups into incubation; the latest edition named is Venture Challenge 9.0.
Best for: Founders willing to pitch competitively for a place in the centre's incubation programme
- Idea – MVP
- In person
What you get, who can apply and how to applyHide details
The Venture Challenge is a closed-door business pitch competition the centre runs to find and incubate new startups, and it is how several cohorts have been selected. Editions run to 9.0 so far. The centre publishes no dates for it, so check whether a round is open before you plan around it.
What you get
- A route into the centre's incubation programme through a competitive screen
- Exposure to a panel and to the centre's mentor and investor network
Who can apply
- Aspiring entrepreneurs with a venture to pitch; the centre states no further gate
How selection works: you pitch your idea and present a business model covering the venture description, market analysis, unique value proposition, competitive landscape, revenue model, innovation and implementation, social impact, and future growth strategy. Venture Challenge 6.0 ran three rounds of screening before shortlisting 28 startups.
How to apply: through the Apply Now link on the centre's Venture Challenge page, which opens the application on an external startup platform. Some of the per-edition pages on the centre's site are blank, so the application link is the reliable one.
InvestoNet
PlatformThe centre's investor platform, connecting its startups with angel investors on standardised terms.
Best for: Incubated early-stage startups raising angel money, and investors wanting to back them
- Takes equity
What you get, who can apply and how to applyHide details
InvestoNet is the centre's route to early-stage capital. It brings entrepreneurs together with angel investors, corporate executives, venture capitalists and other people who want to back early-stage companies, and gives both sides a common place to build an investment proposition for an equity stake.
The centre provides standardised term sheets and documentation so the gap between an investor's first interest and a closed round is shorter — the stated aim is that its startups spend less time fundraising and more time growing.
What it offers investors
- No membership fee to join the network
- A published minimum ticket size, with larger stakes available by pooling
- A choice of startups across the centre's portfolio, and the option to co-invest alongside others in smaller amounts
Equity here is taken by the participating investors, not by the centre.
How to join: through the join link on the centre's InvestoNet page.

Recognitions & empanelments
Official approvals this incubator holds.
The Atal Incubation Centre status checks out on both legs: the centre states it, and it appears on the Atal Innovation Mission's own public register of selected centres under the name AIC Shiv Nadar Research Foundation. Neither source publishes a funding period, so whether that support is still running cannot be told from public pages. The centre claims no other government recognition — no NIDHI, DST, MeitY or state-scheme status appears anywhere on its site. Uttar Pradesh's StartInUP is listed as a partner, which is not the same as being a state-recognised incubator.
Atal Incubation Centre, Atal Innovation Mission (NITI Aayog)· 2017
Confirmed twice over: the centre's own page says it was established in 2017 with the support of AIM, NITI Aayog, and AIM's public register of selected Atal Incubation Centres carries an entry for it as AIC Shiv Nadar Research Foundation, Greater Noida, naming the same chief executive. Neither source publishes a funding period or end date, so whether AIM support is still running cannot be told from what is public.
How to apply to AIC Shiv Nadar University
Choosing the right route
There are two ways in. The Join Us form is the standing route and has no deadline on it, so you can apply at any time. The Venture Challenge is the competitive route the centre uses to run intake in batches — if an edition is open, that is usually the sharper path, because it puts you in front of a screening panel rather than an inbox.
The four programme lines — Pre Incubation, Incubation, Short Term and Acceleration — are described in a few lines each on the centre's site, and only Incubation has any real detail published. Don't try to pick a line before you apply; say where you actually are (idea, prototype, revenue) and let the centre place you.
How applications work
The form asks for your name, email, phone, startup name, founder name and website, how the startup is registered, and a pitch or business plan uploaded as a PDF. Have the PDF ready before you start — it is the only place you get to make your case.
You can apply before you incorporate. "Not Registered" is one of the options on the registration question, alongside proprietorship, LLP, private limited and foreign collaboration. Being unregistered is not a disqualifier, but be clear about what you plan to do and when.
The Venture Challenge application runs on an external platform, so start it early enough to create an account there.
What the centre says it looks for
Four criteria are published for taking a startup in: how novel the idea is, how compelling the solution is, whether it can scale, and whether the team is well rounded. Write your pitch deck against those four, in that order, and make the team slide real — a solo founder with no complementary skills on the team is the criterion most applicants ignore.
For the Venture Challenge specifically, the centre lists exactly what the pitch should cover: a description of the venture, market analysis, unique value proposition, competitive landscape, revenue model, innovation and implementation, social impact, and future growth strategy. That is effectively the deck outline. Venture Challenge 6.0 ran three screening rounds before shortlisting, so expect more than one conversation.
Fit
The centre leans hardware and deep tech — its own list runs to Industry 4.0, robotics, additive manufacturing, life science, EV and power batteries, space tech, health tech and agri tech — and the portfolio bears that out, with drones, robots, medical devices and packaging ventures in it. A pure software play is not excluded (there are SaaS and edtech companies on the list too) but if you need lab space, benches or the university's equipment, say so explicitly: lab and equipment access through the university is one of the things the centre actually controls.
Women-led startups are named as a focus area, and a women startup programme is listed as a sub-track, so flag it if that applies to you.
Before you apply
Write to the centre first if anything about your fit is unclear — the contact address on its site is contact.AIC@snu.edu.in, and the Atal Innovation Mission's register lists incubator@snu.edu.in for the same centre. A short note asking whether an intake is open now will save you guessing, since several of the programme and Venture Challenge pages on the site carry no dates.
About AIC Shiv Nadar University
The Atal Incubation Centre at Shiv Nadar University, Delhi NCR (AIC-SNU) is a business incubator on the university's Greater Noida campus in Uttar Pradesh. It was set up in 2017 with the support of the Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, and describes itself as tech agnostic and hardware-focused. It is a centre of the university rather than the university itself, run by its own small team and governing council, and it takes in startups from outside the campus as well as student ventures.
The centre's stated focus areas are Industry 4.0, robotics and robotic process automation, additive manufacturing, life science, EV and power batteries, women-led startups, space tech, health tech, agri tech, ed tech and other deep-tech fields. Its portfolio page describes a wider spread again, adding AI and machine learning, drones, B2B SaaS, biotechnology, circular economy and medtech, and the Atal Innovation Mission's own register simply calls the centre sector agnostic. The practical reading is that it will look at most technology ventures, with a bias towards ones that build something physical.
How programmes work
AIC-SNU sets out four programme lines. Pre Incubation is for conceptual, innovative business ideas and exists to build the pipeline. Incubation is the core programme, offering structured mentoring, office space, software and startup credits, business networking and investor connects. A Short Term line is named with three sub-tracks — an investment programme, a women startup programme and corporate innovation programmes — though the site gives no detail on any of them. Acceleration is aimed at higher-worth startups scaling up towards a pre-Series A or Series A round.
Alongside these, the centre runs the Venture Challenge, a closed-door business pitch competition it has now taken through several editions. Entrants pitch an idea and present a business model covering the venture, market analysis, unique value proposition, competitive landscape, revenue model, innovation and implementation, social impact and future growth. For Venture Challenge 6.0 the centre ran three rounds of screening and shortlisted 28 startups.
InvestoNet is the centre's investor side. It is a platform that brings entrepreneurs together with angel investors, corporate executives and venture capitalists to build an investment proposition for an equity stake in an early-stage startup. The centre provides standardised term sheets and documentation to shorten the gap between an investor's first interest and a closed round. Investors pay no membership fee and can co-invest in smaller amounts alongside others.
Who can apply
The application form is open to any startup, not just ones from the university. It asks how the startup is registered and offers Sole Proprietorship, LLP, Private Limited, Foreign Collaboration and Not Registered as answers — so having incorporated is not a precondition to apply. No geography or category gate is stated anywhere on the centre's pages.
The stated selection criteria for taking a startup in as an incubatee are the novelty of the idea, a compelling solution, scalability potential and a well-rounded team.
Student entrepreneurship runs as a parallel effort rather than a restriction: the centre works with the university's student Entrepreneurship Cell to run awareness events and build an innovation culture on campus.
Facilities
The centre states its own space as 10,000 sq ft of incubation and co-working space. Incubated startups are also given access to the university's labs and equipment for building and testing products — that access runs through Shiv Nadar University, and the centre does not name individual labs or instruments of its own. The university's wider campus figures that appear alongside this on the centre's About page — its acreage, department count and research centres — belong to the university, not to the incubator.
Beyond space, the published support list covers mentorship from a panel of around 35 named mentors, corporate connect sessions with industry professionals, business scaling support, legal and accounting help, intellectual property support for getting rights on a product, and interns supplied to startups that need more hands.
Who it works with
The centre lists a long partner roster. On the government side: NITI Aayog and the Atal Innovation Mission, Startup India, and Uttar Pradesh's StartInUP. On the corporate and technology side: HCL, Dassault Systemes, and — named in its portfolio copy — Deloitte and STMicroelectronics. On the investment side: Indian Angel Network and Agility Ventures. Ecosystem partners include TiE Delhi/NCR, Headstart Network Foundation, F6S and the Innovation Hub for Urban Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Solutions. A further set are startup perk partners supplying tooling and credits — Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, DigitalOcean, Zoho, Paytm, Exotel, MyOperator, MSG91, Retool, Zendesk and Tally.
Scale
The centre's portfolio page says it has incubated more than 100 startups to date and currently has 52 active. The named grid on that same page lists 88 startups, so the two numbers do not line up exactly and both are the centre's own undated claims. It also reports more than 100 training and outreach events reaching over 5,000 people. Named portfolio companies include Airbots Aerospace and Bery Avionics in drones, Jetsons Robotics, Bridge Healthcare and Raytom Medical Systems in medtech, Humanli.ai, Upcycleluxe, Fuselage Innovations, AgriVijay, Eco365 and PedalX.
Who runs it
Sheeba Khan is the chief executive — a name that appears both on the centre's own team page and in the Atal Innovation Mission's register entry for it. She is supported by associate managers Adil Khan and Rupali Khanna and a small team. The governing council is chaired by Pawan Kumar Danwar, with Anubha Bali as managing director and board member and Prof Pradeep Mehra as a board member.
Where it is and how to reach it
The centre is on the Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence campus in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, near Greater Noida in Delhi NCR. Its pages are hosted as a section of the university site; the older standalone address now redirects there. To apply, use the Join Us form on the centre's site. The centre's careers page says it is not hiring at the moment.
