About Department of Pharmaceuticals

The Department of Pharmaceuticals is a department under the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India. Created on July 1, 2008, the department was established to provide greater focus for the growth of India's high-potential pharmaceutical industry, one of the largest in the world.

The department is entrusted with the responsibility of policy formulation, planning, development, and regulation of the pharmaceutical sector, including drugs, pharmaceuticals, and related industries.
