How to apply to Inflection Point Ventures
Choose the route
- IPV has two routes for founders. The first is pitching for angel funding from IPV's investor members. The second is IdeaSchool, its cohort programme for pre-seed to seed-stage startups.
- IdeaSchool applications open per edition. The Winter Edition 2026 form has closed, so watch IPV's channels for the next edition rather than applying to a closed form.
- Founders Genie, VC Showcase and the Expert Panel are benefits for startups IPV has funded. There is no separate application for them.
How to apply for angel funding
- Start from the startups section of the IPV website. The site's public pages do not list an intake calendar, so you can approach IPV at any time.
- IPV says it invests first in the founder, so make the founder's background and reason for building this company clear in what you send.
What it costs you
- IPV says it charges the startup a mutually agreed percentage of the total amount raised through IPV, including business deals signed along the way.
- Before you agree, ask exactly what counts towards that total and what the percentage covers.
- Ask for the fee terms to be set out in writing.
How selection works
- Selection is competitive. IPV says it has screened over 24,533 startups and invested in 270+ of them, as of September 2025.
- For IdeaSchool, IPV says the cohort is curated from a pool of 1000+ startups, and its angel members can then fund the startups it curates.
About Inflection Point Ventures
Inflection Point Ventures (IPV) is an angel investing firm founded in 2018 and run through IPV Advisors Pvt. Ltd. Its head office is in Gurugram, Haryana, with a branch office in Mumbai. Startups pitch to a network of investor members, who decide whether to back them, and IPV also runs a cohort programme called IdeaSchool for pre-seed and seed-stage startups.
How IPV backs startups
IPV describes itself as an angel investing platform. Its members are CXOs, HNIs, institution alumni and other professionals who put money into the startups IPV puts in front of them. IPV says it invests first in the founder and later in the startup.
The startup side is not free. IPV says it charges the startup a mutually agreed percentage of the total amount raised through IPV, including any business deals signed along the way, to cover administrative and evaluation costs.
IPV also says it introduced a Category I Angel Alternative Investment Fund governed by SEBI. The trust behind it is named FirstPort Capital.
IdeaSchool
IdeaSchool is IPV's cohort programme for pre-seed to seed-stage startups. IPV describes it as a nationwide programme of about six weeks, with masterclasses from industry experts and other benefits, and says its angel members can fund the startups it curates from each cohort. IPV says it holds IdeaSchool twice a year.
The application form for the Winter Edition 2026 has closed, so there is no open intake to apply to at the moment. IPV's own description puts the programme at six weeks. One news report described it as eight weeks, from idea to MVP, so treat the length as unsettled. News reports also said the third edition took applications from 28 January to 15 February 2025, and that the first two batches drew more than 1,500 applications, of which 250 were shortlisted. These figures come from press coverage, not from IPV's pages.
What funded startups get
IPV's startup pages list support beyond the investment itself. Through its Expert Panel, startups get mentoring. The Founders Genie Program gives founders a peer community for solving problems together, and IPV organises VC Showcase events that connect startups with venture capital firms. These are described as benefits for startups IPV has funded, not as programmes anyone can apply to.
IPV's partnerships page also lists software and cloud credits for portfolio startups, offered through partners that include AWS, Microsoft for Startups, Google and Freshworks. Each partner sets its own terms.
Track record
As of September 2025, IPV reported that it had screened over 24,533 startups, invested in 270+ of them, completed 18 exits and 32 partial exits, and made 87 follow-on investments. It also reported that as of April 2025 about a tenth of its portfolio, by value, had failed. All of these are IPV's own figures.
IPV's pages give different counts for its investor members, so we do not show one number. The About page says 24,000+ members, a page for investors says 23,500+, the homepage description says 18,000+ investors, and the startup page says over 2,500 CXOs and HNIs. They may be counting different groups, but the pages do not say so.
IPV's portfolio page and homepage counters did not load any figures when we read them, so we have not listed portfolio companies.
