MGU Innovation Foundation (MGUIF) is a Section 8 not-for-profit company incorporated in December 2019 to function as the business innovation ecosystem of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. Operating under the guidance of the RUSA 2.0 project of the Ministry of Education, the foundation provides technology business incubation facilities with capital equipment, co-working infrastructure, and sectoral expert mentoring.
MGUIFs core incubation areas include cloud computing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, IoT, mobile and web applications, automobile engineering, mechatronics, robotics, nanotechnology, bioinformatics, and drug design. The foundation offers business planning support, access to seed capital, industry partnerships, and structured training programmes to help innovative startups become scalable and sustainable enterprises. The foundation was formally inaugurated in May 2022 and provides incubation facilities coupled with the availability of domain-specific mentors for guiding startups through product development and market entry.
Student entrepreneurs, faculty innovators, and early-stage startup founders in Kerala working in IT, engineering, and life sciences who need access to university research infrastructure, mentorship, and seed-stage funding to commercialise their innovations.
