About Newton School of Technology

StartX is the student entrepreneurship programme run by Newton School of Technology (NST), a brand owned by Incanus Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a private limited company. It gives enrolled NST students mentorship, infrastructure support, workshops and a route to grant funding for a product they are building. Founders who are not enrolled at NST cannot apply.

Who can apply

Only students currently enrolled in an NST industry-focused programme can apply. Individuals and teams both apply. Applicants need a developed product idea or a prototype ready for development.

How the programme works

StartX runs in three reviews. The Ideation Review checks that a team has a clear problem statement, a solution concept and an understanding of its market. The Prototype Review looks at the working prototype, its technical feasibility and early user feedback. The MVP Presentation and Evaluation looks at product success, fit with user needs and market potential, and ends with a pitch day in front of the StartX Fund committee.

What selected teams receive

Selected ideas get infrastructure support, granted on the strength of a working prototype and technical alignment, and dedicated mentorship from industry experts. The programme also runs monthly interactive workshops and expert sessions led by startup founders, and covers product marketing: how to build, position and sell a product.

Funding

The StartX Fund can give pre-seed grant support to selected teams. The programme says the grant depends on a threshold of users, revenue, market opportunity, growth and team. It also lists a smaller pre-seed development grant, without saying which stage it follows.

Scale

The StartX page cites 1,000+ expert mentors and 500+ students' participation.

Who runs it
