SheBuilds 2026 is a unique 12-hour hackathon exclusively for girls, organized by Newton School of Technology in Bengaluru. This event challenges participants to develop innovative technology solutions for real-world problems and create joyful, creative tech experiences. It's designed to foster problem-solving skills and encourage creative innovation within a supportive, fast-paced environment.
Who Should Apply
Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students from recognized institutions. Cross-year and cross-discipline teams are allowed. Team size is 1 to 4 members. A valid college ID is mandatory for registration.
Tracks / Themes
The hackathon is divided into two distinct phases:
- Phase 1 — Real-World Problem Solving: Focus on building technology solutions for challenges such as campus problems, social impact, productivity tools, or AI-assisted systems.
- Phase 2 — Fun & Joyful Innovation: Concentrate on creating entertaining or experimental tech experiences, including mini-games, creative AI tools, meme-based products, or innovative UI/UX concepts.
Format & Timeline
This is a 12-hour, single-day hackathon held on April 24, 2026, in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The first 6 hours are dedicated to Phase 1, followed by a checkpoint demo, and then the next 6 hours for Phase 2. All development must occur strictly within the 12-hour duration. Teams must submit both prototypes and a combined presentation by the end of Hour 12. A working prototype demo is required during final judging.
Prizes
The total prize pool is ₹30,000. Prizes include cash awards, winner certificates, and exclusive goodies for 1st and 2nd place. Runner-up teams will receive goodies and certificates, and all valid participants will be awarded certificates.
Eligibility
Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students from recognized institutions. Teams must consist of 1 to 4 members. Cross-year and cross-discipline teams are permitted. Team composition cannot be changed after the hackathon starts.
