The Incubation Center of NIT Patna is the National Institute of Technology Patna's own centre for early-stage startups, on the institute campus at Ashok Rajpath, Patna. It describes its aim as helping early-stage startups with resources and guidance so that fewer of them fail. It is run by the institute under a Professor-In-Charge, with a team of student coordinators.

Who can apply

This is a campus-based centre, but it is not closed to outsiders. Its website says current NIT Patna students, alumni and faculty members can apply, and so can external entrepreneurs with a scalable, innovative concept or an early-stage prototype. The sectors it names are deep-tech, healthcare, sustainability, ed-tech and consumer software. The application form asks you to describe your idea, the problem it solves, who will use it and your current stage: concept, prototype or active startup. So the centre is aimed at idea and early prototype stage teams, and it also lists teams that already run as companies.

What the centre offers

The centre groups its support under four heads. Mentorship means advice on refining your business model and strategy. Funding means access to funding routes through cohorts, grants and investor connects. Networking means introductions to mentors, industry professionals and alumni. Workspace means affordable shared workspaces and maker facilities to prototype and build. Its website also mentions office space, meeting rooms and a Tinkering Lab with hardware and 3D printing equipment. It says it supports startups across Bihar, and states its vision as making Bihar a hub of entrepreneurship.

Incubated startups

The website lists 47 startups under its incubations section. Shekhar Telesystems, Busy Mechanic and Vendospot are the three it calls notable successes. Others include Onibus, a communication app for schools and parents, and Schooglink, a school community platform. Most of the rest are small private limited companies in areas such as food, education, logistics, finance and agriculture. The centre also hosts talks by founders, including Antesh Anand of Brand Medix and Rahul Samrat of CoWorking Studio.

Events

The centre runs pitch and startup events on campus. Pitchverse 2026 was held on 19/09/2026 in CV Raman Hall at the Patna campus and at the Bihta campus. It was open to NIT Patna students, aspiring student entrepreneurs and creators, and its notice says it has concluded. Earlier events include PitchTember 2023, which ran from 24/11/2023 to 18/12/2023 and was open to student founders and early-stage startup teams, an orientation session on 21/09/2023 and an online stock market simulation on 09/02/2024.

Who runs it

Prof. Bharat Gupta is the Professor-In-Charge of the Incubation Center. The centre's parent is NIT Patna, led by its Director, Prof. Pradip K. Jain. The centre also lists faculty mentors from the institute and student office bearers for each session.
