How to apply to TiE Pune

Start by choosing the right programme

TiE Pune's programmes serve different people, so match yours before you apply:

  • A startup that wants a structured accelerator with mentors and workshops: Nurture.
  • A women-led early-stage startup looking to scale: the TiE Women Global Pitch Competition, through the Pune chapter.
  • A startup looking for investors: TiE Pune Angels.
  • A college or university student building an idea: TiE U Pune.
  • A founder who wants stage-based learning for a small team: the Masterclass series.

How applications work

  • Nurture: the form for the 15th cohort has closed. The Nurture page has an interest form for updates on the next cohort's timeline and application details, and questions go to members@tiepune.org.
  • TiE Women: the Pune page gave a last date to apply in June 2026, so the 2026 round has closed. There is no application fee. Ask members@tiepune.org about the next round.
  • TiE Pune Angels: use the application link on the TiE Pune Angels page, or write to members@tiepune.org.
  • TiE U Pune and Masterclass: the pages give no application form or dates. Ask the chapter office at members@tiepune.org.

Know the membership rule

  • Nurture requires TiE Associate Membership for every founder and co-founder.
  • Every founder and co-founder on your team needs it, so settle that with your co-founders first.
  • Nurture itself has no participation fee and takes no equity, but membership is a separate requirement.

What the chapter says about Nurture

  • The programme runs for six to eight months, so plan founder time across the whole stretch.
  • It includes a kick-off, guru sessions and workshops, a strategic bootcamp, a finishing school and a graduation ceremony.

Check before you rely on anything

  • Programme pages on the chapter's site change between cohorts. Confirm dates and eligibility with the chapter before you plan around them.
  • TiE Women rules are set by the global competition, so read the current rules for the round you are entering.

About TiE Pune

TiE Pune is the Pune chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), a not-for-profit organisation that supports entrepreneurs through education, mentorship, networking and funding opportunities. It works from an office in Shivaji Nagar, Pune, and runs an equity-free accelerator called Nurture, an angel investing group, a route into the TiE Women global pitch competition, a student programme and an annual conference, TiECon Pune.

How TiE Pune programmes work

Most of what TiE Pune offers is built around membership of the chapter. The Nurture accelerator makes TiE Associate Membership mandatory for every founder and co-founder taking part, and the Masterclass series lists chapter membership as part of what a participant gets. Check the membership terms before you apply, because they decide whether you can join a cohort at all.

Nurture is the chapter's main programme for startups. It runs for six to eight months and moves through a kick-off, guru sessions and workshops, a strategic bootcamp, a finishing school and a graduation ceremony. TiE Pune states that it is an equity-free accelerator and that there are no fees for taking part in it. The application form for the 15th cohort has closed, and the page now collects interest for the next intake.

The TiE Women Global Pitch Competition is a TiE Global initiative for women entrepreneurs. TiE Pune is one of the chapters through which Pune-based founders can enter, and it describes its role as helping founders learn, scale and reach global opportunities. TiE Pune invites applications from women-led early-stage startups looking to scale, and it says TiE does not charge an application fee. Its listed last date to apply for the 2026 round was in June 2026, so that round is closed. The competition offers equity-free cash prizes.

TiE Pune Angels is the chapter's angel investing group. It draws on TiE Pune charter members and investors from around the world, and the chapter says several startups have received mentoring, funding and investment from it. The page does not state ticket sizes, how often the group meets or what it looks for beyond startups seeking investment.

TiE U Pune is the chapter's route into TiE U, TiE's global initiative to build entrepreneurship among college and university students. It lists a Summer Founder Cohort and focused mentoring for students who are actively building their ideas. It is meant for students, not for registered companies.

The Masterclass series offers tracks chosen by business stage, taught by expert faculty. Up to three team members from one startup can attend together.

Who can apply

Who can apply depends on the programme. Nurture is open to founder teams who can hold TiE Associate Membership for every founder and co-founder. The TiE Women competition is for women-led early-stage startups. TiE U Pune is for college and university students. TiE Pune Angels is for startups and entrepreneurs looking for investment. Listings of the global TiE Women competition report that a woman co-founder must hold at least a third of the company's equity.

Events

TiECon Pune 2027 is planned for 5 and 6 February 2027 at The Westin Pune in Koregaon Park, with privileged tickets open. TiE Pune says TiECon Pune has so far welcomed more than 1,000 companies and more than 5,000 attendees. It is a ticketed conference for entrepreneurs, founders, business leaders and investors, not a funding or incubation programme.

Scale

TiE Pune says Nurture has enabled more than 400 startups across 14 cohorts, and that more than 200 Nurture alumni companies have shown measurable growth and revenue. These are the chapter's own figures, and they are not dated. TiE Pune's own pages also give different counts for the size of the wider TiE network, so none of those counts is repeated here.

Who runs it

TiE Pune is run by the Pune chapter of TiE and describes itself as a not-for-profit organisation. It says it won the Best Turnaround award in 2013 at the TiE Global Annual Retreat in Athens after competing with 61 chapters globally. Its pages list a governing council and a chapter team.
