Does a company's CIN change when the name changes?

No. The CIN remains the same. Only the name portion changes; the state code, year of incorporation, and serial number in the CIN stay constant.

How long does a company name change take?

Approximately 15–20 working days: RUN approval (1–2 days), EGM notice and meeting (15+ days statutory notice), INC-24 ROC processing (5–7 days).

Do I need to change my PAN after a company name change?

Yes. PAN must be updated to reflect the new name by filing Form 49A(C) with the NSDL. The PAN number itself remains the same.

Do existing contracts become invalid after a name change?

No. Existing contracts remain valid as the CIN (legal identity) of the company does not change. However, parties should be notified and future documents should use the new name.
