Legal Metrology Registration

How It Works

   Identify applicable registration office

   Determine the state Controller of Legal Metrology jurisdiction based on the manufacturing or packing premises address and identify the applicable registration form.

   Compile documentation and label review

   Gather entity and premises documents and review all product labels against the mandatory declaration checklist under the Packaged Commodities Rules.

3. 3

   Application filing and fee payment

   File the registration application with the state Controller of Legal Metrology office along with prescribed fee and supporting documents.

4. 4

   Inspection and certificate issuance

   The Inspector may visit the premises to verify manufacturing or packing activity. Upon satisfaction, the Registration Certificate is issued.

5. 5

   Label compliance rollout

   Update all product packaging and labels to display mandatory information correctly and maintain compliance records for Inspector verification.
