Which spices require Spices Board registration?

Is IEC mandatory before Spices Board registration?
Yes. An active Importer Exporter Code (IEC) from DGFT is a prerequisite for Spices Board exporter registration.
Is there a Certificate of Inspection required for every spice shipment?
Certificates of Inspection are required for certain markets (EU, US, Japan) and certain product categories. The Spices Board issues these through its network of offices. We confirm the requirements for your target markets.
Does organic spice export need a separate certification?
Yes. Organic spices exported under the organic claim require certification under the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP) in addition to Spices Board registration. The Spices Board has a dedicated organic spice export programme.
