Who can apply to TARANG 1.0?

The programme invites DPIIT-recognized startups, academic spin-offs, innovators and entrepreneurs, MSMEs and early-stage companies, researchers and R&D teams, technology developers, and healthcare professionals. DPIIT recognition is one of several accepted applicant categories, not a requirement.

What are the eligibility criteria?

Your technology must be at a minimum TRL of 6 or above and validated in a relevant environment. It must show clear potential for real-world application and market adoption, and you must present a defined commercialization plan covering product deployment, licensing, technology transfer, manufacturing, or market adoption.

What are the two pathways in TARANG 1.0?

Challenge-Based Innovation is for innovators developing solutions against validated healthcare problem statements sourced from DRISHTI, healthcare institutions, industry and ecosystem partners. Technology Commercialization is for startups and enterprises that want to identify, adopt, validate, license and commercialize TRL 6+ technologies developed or supported by IITI DRISHTI CPS Foundation and its partners.

How much funding is available?

Selected applicants may receive funding support of up to ₹1 Crore, subject to programme evaluation and approval. The programme also opens strategic investment and co-investment opportunities. Funding support is subject to programme guidelines, eligibility, milestone achievement, and applicable investment terms.

What are the focus areas?

Digital healthcare, AI and healthcare, medical devices, connected healthcare, precision medicine, smart manufacturing, emerging technologies, and technology commercialization.

What is the deadline for the Expression of Interest?

The last date for submission of the Expression of Interest (EOI) is 11 September 2026.

Is there a preference in the selection?

Preference may be given to technologies that demonstrate strong innovation, societal impact, regulatory preparedness, and scalability.

TARANG 1.0 (Technology Acceleration and Research Alliance for Next Gen Growth) is a flagship Digital Healthcare Accelerator and Technology Commercialization Programme launched by IITI DRISHTI CPS FOUNDATION, IIT Indore. The program is designed to accelerate the journey of healthcare innovations from concept to commercialization by fostering collaboration between startups, innovators, researchers, healthcare institutions, technology providers, industry, and strategic investment partners. The accelerator focuses on healthcare and deep-tech technologies at TRL 6 and above, providing structured support for technology validation, pilot deployment, regulatory enablement, industry partnerships, and investment readiness. It offers two distinct pathways:

PATHWAY 1 | ACCELERATE: For innovators and startups developing solutions for identified healthcare challenges, guiding them through development, validation, refinement, and deployment.

PATHWAY 2 | COMMERCIALIZE: For proven technologies ready for market adoption, assisting with adoption, validation, technology transfer, and commercialization. This pathway also enables participants to identify, adopt, validate, license, and commercialize promising TRL 6+ healthcare technologies developed or supported by IITI DRISHTI CPS Foundation, Collaborators, and Partner Organizations.

TARANG 1.0 aims to create an integrated ecosystem for successful technology adoption and deployment by providing a comprehensive support system beyond just acceleration.

TARANG 1.0 runs two parallel evaluation tracks, one for each pathway. Both start from the same Expression of Interest (EOI).

Challenge-Based Innovation — startups and innovators submit an EOI against a validated healthcare problem statement. DRISHTI then runs a technical evaluation of technical feasibility, innovation and solution approach, followed by selection of innovators shortlisted on that evaluation. Selected teams move into solution development with technical and domain support, clinical validation through pilot deployment in real-world settings, an investment and industry connect stage, and finally commercialization and market adoption.

Technology Commercialization — startups and MSMEs submit an EOI for an available TRL 6+ technology. DRISHTI runs a technology evaluation of technology potential, novelty and market relevance, then a commercialization assessment of market opportunity, use cases and business potential. Shortlisted applicants proceed to technology partner interaction (interaction with the technology owners plus due diligence), licensing or technology transfer under mutually agreed commercial terms, product development and validation with user feedback, investment and industry connect, and commercialization and market adoption.

Preference may be given to technologies that demonstrate strong innovation, societal impact, regulatory preparedness, and scalability.
