This talk explores how foundation models, diffusion models, digital twins, and hybrid physics-AI systems can move beyond benchmarks and become real-world infrastructure. We'll discuss how AI is enabling high-resolution weather forecasting, improving flood prediction, supporting resilient power grids, helping farmers make better decisions, and making water management more intelligent.
The session will also feature live demonstrations of several AI products built at AIR lab, including AirCast (high-resolution weather forecasting), AirCast Delhi (AI-powered air quality and weather forecasts), AirCast S2S (extended-range forecasting), LLM Water, LLM Farmer, Kentucky Highway Disasters, NCDEX Rain Mumbai Arena, and DeepAssimilate.
About the speaker: Manmeet Singh is an Assistant Professor at Western Kentucky University, where he leads research at the intersection of artificial intelligence, weather, climate, disaster science, agriculture, energy, and water systems. He has authored over 60 research publications including papers at NeurIPS, Science Advances, Scientific Data, and Environmental Research Letters.
