Robo Race is a time-trial robotics competition held as part of Techtrix'26 at I.T.S Engineering College, Greater Noida, organised by the Navrachna Foundation For Entrepreneurship Development. Teams design and build a manually controlled, wireless robot capable of navigating an obstacle-filled track and completing the full circuit in the shortest possible time.
Who it's for Open to students from any academic institution, with inter-college and inter-specialisation teams permitted. Each team may have a maximum of two members, and a valid institutional ID is mandatory for participation.
Robot Specifications
Format and Track A qualifying round ranks all registered teams by total adjusted time, and the best performers advance to the final round, where the lowest overall adjusted time wins. The track is approximately 45 cm wide, may vary at certain sections, and angles will not exceed 30°. It may include switch gates, downward slopes, seesaws, stone pits, rollers, rotating discs, tunnels, bumps, uneven surfaces, and surprise obstacles.
Judging and Penalties The winner is determined by the lowest Adjusted Time, calculated as Race Time plus Boundary Penalties (+1 second per wall contact), Hand-Touch Penalties (+15 seconds per touch, maximum three per race), and Obstacle-Skip Penalties (+20 seconds per skipped obstacle, maximum two per race). The race timer runs continuously and is never paused or restarted for falls, resets, skips, or disputes. Teams must report to the arena at least 30 minutes before the official start for technical inspection and weigh-in covering dimensions, weight, power supply, and construction.
