चयन प्रक्रिया
The evaluation team will meticulously review applications based on five key criteria:
- Founder profile: Assessing who you are and the motivation behind your creation.
- Product potential: Evaluating the clarity of the problem addressed and the effectiveness of your proposed product solution.
- Market viability: Examining the existence of a real market for your solution and your strategy to reach it.
- Technical architecture: Reviewing the robustness and scalability of your product's underlying technical design.
- Use of Google AI: Analyzing the depth and integration of Google AI and Google Cloud in powering your product.
Shortlisted teams for the City Buildathon will receive a confirmation email. During the City Buildathon, technical and non-technical jurors will score the developed products. Top-performing teams from the City Buildathons will then advance to the Regional Showcases, where they will present their solutions to business mentors and investors. The finalists from these showcases will proceed to the Grand Finale for a final presentation and the announcement of the top 10 winners.

Who can apply for the Startup Buildathon?
Early-stage startups with a new AI product idea, aspiring entrepreneurs with an AI startup idea, solo founders, teams of two or more, and anyone building an AI-powered solution with the intention of building a business around it can apply.
Do I need a technical co-founder or a coding background?
No, a technical co-founder or coding background is not strictly required. Aspiring entrepreneurs with just an idea are welcome to apply. The program is designed to support both technical and non-technical founders.
Do I have to pay any fees to participate in the Buildathon?
No, the program is completely free to participate in. There are no application or participation fees.
When is the last date for application submission for the Buildathon?
The last date for application submission for the Buildathon is 13th November 2026. Please ensure all required documents and information are submitted before this deadline.
How do I get confirmation for my participation in the Buildathon?

What can I win?

How will the teams get shortlisted?
The evaluation team will meticulously review several aspects, including the founder's profile, the potential of your product idea, its market viability, the proposed technical architecture, and the depth of Google AI and Cloud infrastructure usage in your solution.
What is the maximum number of people we can have in our team?
There is no stated maximum limit on the number of people you can have in your team. Solo founders and teams of any size are welcome to apply.
What happens after the city Buildathon?
After the City Buildathon, top-performing teams will be selected to present at a Regional Showcase on 23rd, 25th, or 27th November. Finalists from these showcases will then proceed to the Grand Finale at Google, Bengaluru, in December.
Do we need to carry a laptop for the Buildathon? How does the 2-day Buildathon look like?
Yes, participants are required to bring their own laptops to the City Buildathon. Day 1 of the Buildathon focuses on ideation, design, kick-off, rules, and hands-on sessions with Google AI tools and mentor rounds. Day 2 is dedicated to building your product, submitting it, and presenting to the jury, followed by the announcement of shortlisted teams.
