GL Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management (GLBITM) is an engineering college in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, affiliated to AKTU. Its incubator, the GL Bajaj Center for Research and Incubation (GLBCRI), is set up by the institute and supports early-stage startups and student ideas. Its stated aim is to provide a platform where innovative ideas are generated, and to support and mentor innovators to become successful entrepreneurs.

What the centre runs

GLBCRI runs an incubation programme for startups at idea stage through to market entry. It offers office space, co-working areas and laboratories, mentoring from industry and academic experts, help with legal and administrative tasks such as company registration and intellectual property, and help with business plans and go-to-market approaches. It also runs NIDHI PRAYAS, a DST scheme for prototype grants, which helps an innovator turn an idea into a physical prototype.

The institute's Entrepreneurship Cell holds guest lectures, business plan and case study workshops, and knowledge camps for students. Its stated aim is a startup school on campus for the ideas of the campus and nearby institutes.

Who can apply

The incubation programme is aimed at startups and early-stage companies, and the centre's own vision names campus and nearby-institute ideas first. Outside founders should read the centre's terms before applying, since the pages read do not state an equity or fee position.

NIDHI PRAYAS is open to individual innovators and to early-stage startups, not only to students. Applicants must be Indian citizens aged 18 or over. A startup must be incorporated in India, be no more than 7 years old, and have at least 51% of its equity held by Indian citizens. The scheme does not fund pure software, e-commerce, service or app-only projects.

Recognition

The centre states that it is recognised by the Start in UP scheme of the Uttar Pradesh government as an incubator. The institute also states that it is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and that a download for its AKTU affiliation letter is available on its site.

Labs and facilities

The institute lists specialised labs alongside the centre, among them the Palo Alto Lab, which it describes as Northern India's first cybersecurity lab, a CISCO lab, an NVIDIA learning centre, an EVM centre of excellence, and an AICTE IDEA lab. The centre also has a conference room and meeting rooms, and it states that it has seating for around 36 startups.

Track record

The centre states that it received the AKTU Leader Incubator Award 2026. It also says that a student-founded venture placed first in the Ayush Startup Challenge 2022, run by the Ministry of Ayush. The institute's Innovation Council states that it is a top performer for conducting quality events over the last five years.

Scale

The centre's pages give different counts of startups incubated: 63 on the centre page and more than 102 on the Innovation and Incubation Cell page. The centre says more than half of its incubated startups are founded and led by women. Its pages name incubated companies in a range of sectors, including agriculture, healthcare, clean energy and manufacturing, not only software.

Who runs it

GLBITM is a private engineering college in Greater Noida. Its own site lists NAAC A+ accreditation and an AKTU affiliation download. The centre is part of the institute. The institute also has an Innovation and Incubation Cell, an Entrepreneurship Cell and an Institute Innovation Council.
