St. Xavier's Catholic College of Engineering

St. Xavier's Catholic College of Engineering (SXCCE), established in 1998 and located in Nagercoil, Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu, is an AICTE-approved institution affiliated with Anna University. The college serves as a hub for engineering talent and entrepreneurship development in the southernmost region of India.

Innovation and Startup Activities

SXCCE has been actively engaged in Tamil Nadu's startup ecosystem, hosting innovation events and bootcamps in partnership with StartupTN and the Tamil Nadu Technology Hub (iTNT):

• Hosted "Umagine Catalyst'23" — an innovation expo and startup pitch session organized by StartupTN
• Participated in Investor & Incubator Connect events for shortlisted women-led startups from the state
• Organized 2-day bootcamps on Experiential Design Thinking for students and faculty

Institution's Innovation Council (IIC)

As mandated by the Ministry of Education, the college operates an Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) that:

• Conducts innovation challenges, hackathons, and idea competitions
• Connects students with mentors and startup resources
• Promotes IP awareness and technology entrepreneurship

Engineering Programmes

The college offers B.E./B.Tech programmes in Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering — building a talent pipeline for the technology and startup sector.
