The Startup Agribusiness Incubation Program (SAIP) under the RKVY-RAFTAAR scheme is a flagship funding and incubation initiative implemented by the MANAGE Centre for Innovation and Agripreneurship (CIA). The program is designed to support agri-based startups that have developed a minimum viable product (MVP) and are ready to move towards commercialization and scaling.
SAIP provides grant-in-aid funding of up to ₹25 lakh to eligible startups, enabling them to refine their products, conduct trials, launch into the market, and scale their operations. The funding is structured to support a wide range of business activities including product testing, marketing launch, intellectual property expenses, manpower, and operational costs. The program requires startups to contribute a portion of the project cost, ensuring commitment and shared risk.
The funding is disbursed in stages based on milestone achievements and performance evaluations. This structured disbursement ensures accountability and encourages startups to achieve defined growth targets. The program also includes incubation support through training and mentoring, helping startups strengthen their business strategies and operational capabilities.
A key feature of SAIP is its integration with government evaluation mechanisms. Startups are first assessed by the MANAGE incubation committee and subsequently evaluated by the RKVY-RAFTAAR Selection and Investment Committee for final funding approval. This multi-stage evaluation ensures that only high-potential startups receive support.
