Programmes they run
Standing programmes at CURAJ Incubation Foundation, separate from the funding calls above.
Only two routes on the incubator's site are genuinely live and specific to it. The six service tiles it lists, including an accelerator with a three-month cohort and a demo day, are unedited sample content that came with the website template, so we have not written them up.
Incubation support
IncubationThe incubator's standing intake, applied for by a letter of intent, in one of three modes.
Best for: Founders and incorporated companies seeking pre-incubation, virtual or physical incubation; no affiliation requirement is stated
- Idea – Early revenue
What you get, who can apply and how to applyHide details
This is CURAJ Incubation Foundation's main door. You write a letter of intent for incubation support, addressed to the Executive Director, and choose which of three modes you want.
What you get
- Pre-incubation, virtual incubation or physical incubation, depending on which you ask for. The incubator does not publish what each mode includes.
Who can apply
- Not stated. The form imposes no student, staff or alumni requirement, and asks your role, your organisation and your year of incorporation if you are incorporated, so it is written for outside founders and companies as well as campus teams.
- The incubator's stated remit covers CURAJ and the surrounding areas, including innovators in neighbouring villages.
How selection works: not published. The letter ends by asking the incubator to confirm when a formal agreement can be signed and incubation can begin.
How to apply: complete the letter of intent on the incubator's site, naming the mode and the programme you want. Admissions are described as rolling, with no deadline. Ask contact@curajif.in about fees, equity and duration before you apply, because none of it is published.
Business ideas submission
ProgrammeA three-step form for early feedback on an idea, open only to people affiliated with one of three named universities.
Best for: Students, staff and others affiliated with CURAJ, MGKVU or VBSPU who want feedback on an idea
- Idea, Prototype, MVP, Growth
- Online
What you get, who can apply and how to applyHide details
A separate, lighter route than the incubation intake: you describe an idea and the incubator's experts come back with initial feedback. It is open at any time.
Who can apply
- The form requires you to select one of three universities: Central University of Rajasthan, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith University or Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University. There is no option for someone unaffiliated, so this route is for people connected to those institutions.
- Any stage is accepted, from a concept that exists only in your head, through a built prototype, to a venture growing its customer base or one looking to expand.
- The industries offered are energy, clean tech, healthcare and biotech, software as a service, education, transportation, fintech and other.
How to apply: complete the three-step business ideas submission form on the incubator's site. If you are not at one of the three universities, use the letter of intent for incubation support instead.
Incubation tracks
CURAJ Incubation Foundation runs a virtual track, so you can join without relocating.
| Track | Type | Space | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-incubationOffered as one of three modes on the incubator's letter of intent. No terms are published. | Pre-incubation | — | — |
| Virtual incubationOffered as one of three modes on the incubator's letter of intent. No terms are published. | Virtual incubation | — | — |
| Physical incubationOffered as one of three modes on the incubator's letter of intent. Space on the CURAJ campus at Bandarsindari; no allocation terms, duration or fees are published. | Resident incubation | — | — |
Labs & facilities
Equipment and space on campus.
The labs below are the incubator's own stated plan, contingent on grant funding, rather than facilities you can book today. Ask what exists on campus now before you commit.
Incubation space on the CURAJ campus
Physical incubation is one of the three modes the incubator offers on its own intake form. The about page separately describes incubation spaces as something it will set up with grant funding, so confirm what exists today before you plan a move.
Fabrication lab (planned)
Described by the incubator as something it will set up once grant funding lands, not as a facility running today.
Biotechnology lab (planned)
Described by the incubator as something it will set up once grant funding lands, not as a facility running today.
Support services
Help offered alongside funding and space.
Business advisory
Mentoring and sessions on innovation, startups and entrepreneurship, run on campus. No mentor is named on the site.
Technology transfer
The incubator says it mentors grass-root innovators from villages near the campus so their work can transfer to the wider community.
Recognitions & empanelments
Official approvals this incubator holds.
This status comes from DST's own register, not from the incubator's website, which still describes the grant as an application.
DST NIDHI inclusive Technology Business Incubator (i-TBI)
Confirmed against the Department of Science and Technology's own published list of NIDHI inclusive Technology Business Incubators, issued in January 2026, where it appears under the host institute name Central University of Rajasthan with curajif.in as its website. The incubator's own site does not claim the status: it says only that it applied for the grant, so its pages appear to be out of date. The register publishes no funding period, so whether the support is current cannot be told from it.
How to apply to CURAJ Incubation Foundation
Confirm you are eligible before you write anything
CURAJ Incubation Foundation publishes no eligibility rules. Its remit is stated as CURAJ and the surrounding areas, and it says it goes looking for innovators in nearby villages, so outside founders are clearly in scope in principle. But its primary stated mandate is students on campus, and its idea-submission form only accepts people affiliated to one of three named universities. Email contact@curajif.in, say plainly who you are and whether you are connected to the university, and get the answer in writing first. This is a five-minute question that decides whether the rest is worth doing.
Pick the right door
There are two live routes and they are not interchangeable.
- The letter of intent for incubation support is the real intake. Use it if you want a place in the incubator. It imposes no affiliation requirement and asks for a year of incorporation if you have one, so it suits both individuals and registered companies.
- The business ideas submission form is for early feedback on an idea, and it requires you to select CURAJ, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith University or Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University. If none of those is yours, use the letter of intent instead.
Fill in the letter of intent properly
The form asks you to choose between pre-incubation, virtual incubation and physical incubation, and to name the programme you want. Those two fields are the whole of your application, so do not leave them vague. Decide whether you actually need desk space on the campus at Bandarsindari or whether virtual support is enough, and say which. If you are not sure what the programmes are called, ask before you submit rather than guessing.
Lead with fit to what they work on
The scheme record lists the incubator's technology areas as health, agriculture and artificial intelligence, and its founding account puts real weight on agriculture, engineering and grass-root innovation around Ajmer. Its director's own background is in agricultural microbiology. An application that connects your work to those areas, or to problems in the districts around the campus, has a far better argument than a generic pitch.
Do not plan around anything the website promises
Large parts of curajif.in are unedited sample content. The partner list, the news stories and the accelerator page's cohort terms are not statements about this incubator, and several linked pages do not exist. The labs described on the about page are written as something the incubator intends to build once grant funding lands, not as facilities you can use today. Ask what physically exists on campus right now, and what it costs, before you commit to a move.
Ask the questions the site never answers
Nothing is published about fees, equity, how long support lasts, how applications are assessed, or who sits on a selection panel. Put all of that in your first email. Ask for the name of the Executive Director your letter is addressed to, since the site does not give it, and ask whether the DST-supported programme is currently running and taking new startups.
Visit if you can
The incubator invites campus visits and gives detailed directions, and it keeps Saturday hours. Kishangarh station is the nearest railhead, with Ajmer and Jaipur further out. For a founder in Rajasthan, turning up in person is likely to get you further than the website will.
About CURAJ Incubation Foundation
CURAJ Incubation Foundation is the incubator hosted by Central University of Rajasthan, on the university campus at Bandarsindari in Kishangarh tehsil, Ajmer district. It is a section 8 company, set up in the academic year 2023-24 by CIF@CURAJ, the university's innovation foundation, to run a full incubation centre rather than campus activities alone. It appears on the Department of Science and Technology's published list of NIDHI inclusive Technology Business Incubators, the i-TBI scheme, under the host institute name Central University of Rajasthan, with curajif.in as its website.
How it came about
The incubator's own account starts earlier than the company does. CIF@CURAJ was set up under the guidance of the Vice Chancellor to identify, encourage and foster entrepreneurial talent within CURAJ and in the surrounding areas. It began by running sessions on innovation, startups and entrepreneurship for faculty and students, and describes its primary mandate as nurturing young students so they can turn ideas into prototypes while they are still on campus. It also says it works to find grass-root innovators in neighbouring villages, in fields such as agriculture and engineering, and to mentor them so their work can transfer to the wider community.
The section 8 company came out of that. The incubator says it then applied for the DST NIDHI i-TBI grant and for a BIRAC eYUVA centre, and that the funding would let it set up a fabrication lab, a biotechnology lab and incubation space for startups. DST's own i-TBI list now carries the entry, but the incubator's website has not been updated to say so, and it still describes both grants as applications. The labs are written about as something it will build, not as something already running, so treat them as planned rather than open.
What it offers
The site is thin on specifics, and honest reading of it gives a short list. The incubator's letter-of-intent form offers three modes of support: pre-incubation, virtual incubation and physical incubation. That is its own statement of what a founder can ask for. Beyond that, the pages describe mentoring, help with grant applications, workshops, co-working space and an alumni network in general terms, without naming a single mentor, a cohort, a date or a term.
Much of the wider site is unedited sample content that shipped with the template it was built on, and it should not be read as fact. The partners page lists Sequoia Capital, Stanford, MIT, Harvard Business School and Cambridge, alongside an American phone number and an email address at a domain that is not the incubator's. The news page carries invented stories with invented bylines. The accelerator page promises a three-month programme with a dollar-denominated seed cheque, a demo day and cloud credits, which is generic accelerator copy rather than anything CURAJ has announced. Several links in the site footer, including the pages for frequently asked questions, guidelines, forms, mentors, events, startups, support and alumni, return errors. We have written up only the two intake routes that are genuinely live.
Who can apply
The incubator does not publish eligibility criteria anywhere on its website, which is the single biggest gap for a founder considering it. What can be said is this. Its stated remit covers CURAJ and the surrounding areas, and explicitly extends to innovators in nearby villages, so it is not framed as a campus-only body. Its letter-of-intent form asks for your role, your organisation and your year of incorporation if you are incorporated, and imposes no student or staff requirement, so that route is open to outside founders and to registered companies. Its separate idea-submission form is different: it requires you to pick one of three universities, with no option for someone unaffiliated, so that route is for people connected to those institutions. Its primary stated mandate remains students on campus. If you are an outside founder, write to the incubator and confirm the position before you invest time in an application.
The stages it works with can be read from its own idea form, which accepts everything from a concept that exists only in your head, through a built prototype, to a venture growing its customer base or looking to expand. DST's list records its technology thrust areas as health, agriculture and artificial intelligence.
Scale
The numbers on the site contradict each other and we publish none of them. The home page and the about page give different counts of startups incubated, a third and much lower count appears in the about page's own impact block, the two pages give different success rates, and they give different totals for money raised by portfolio companies. None of the figures is dated. The about page also describes over a decade of work above a banner saying the organisation has existed since 2021. Three portfolio companies are named and each links out to its own site or profile: MaheTri Private Limited, which makes handcrafted leather goods; Piro Space Metaverse; and Techtaru Digital LLP, which builds the Zoop AI content platform. All three are given as founded in 2022.
Who runs it
The Vice Chancellor of Central University of Rajasthan, Prof. Anand Bhalerao, is the chairman. Two directors are named: Dr. Akhil Agrawal, Associate Professor and Head of Microbiology at CURAJ, who works on crop and agricultural microbiology, intellectual property and startup ecosystems; and Dr. Hemlata Manglani, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Economics. Applications are addressed to the Executive Director, who is not named on the site.
How to apply
There is no portal and no deadline. Complete the letter of intent for incubation support on the incubator's site, saying which of the three modes you want and naming the programme you are applying to, and it will come back to you about signing an agreement. Idea-stage submissions from the three listed universities go through the separate three-step idea form. General enquiries and applications go to contact@curajif.in, and the incubator also publishes cif@curaj.ac.in and ia.cif@curaj.ac.in. DST's list gives ceo.cif@curaj.ac.in as the incubator's contact.
