Programmes they run
Standing programmes at Flipkart Leap, separate from the funding calls above.
Two tracks, and they are not interchangeable: Leap Ahead invests and takes equity, the Innovation Network buys a paid pilot. Check which one is open before applying — the announcement banner on Flipkart Leap's own site is out of date, and the Apply menu is the reliable one.
Flipkart Leap Innovation Network
AcceleratorPaid pilots with Flipkart for startups already shipping a product, with a route to a commercial partnership.
Best for: Startups with a viable product already shipping to consumers in the themes Flipkart publishes for that cohort
- Early revenue – Growth
- Online
- Free
With Flipkart, Bain
What you get, who can apply and how to applyHide details
The Innovation Network is Flipkart Leap's commercial track. Rather than investing, Flipkart runs a paid pilot with you: selected startups deploy their solution on Flipkart and work with the product and engineering teams behind the business unit they are solving for. A pilot that works can turn into a commercial partnership, and Flipkart Leap says a startup may also be considered for investment afterwards. Five cohorts have been published so far, and the apply link currently points at a sixth. Its themes are rewritten for each intake; the ones published now are next-generation logistics and hyperlocal intelligence, next-generation AI infrastructure and compute efficiency, and autonomous systems with continuous quality evaluation.
What you get
- A paid pilot deploying your solution on Flipkart
- Direct engagement with Flipkart product and engineering teams
- Mentor connects with named Flipkart senior leaders, each on a stated subject
- A curriculum delivered with Bain, covering strategy, finance, engineering, product-market fit and fundraising
- A commercial partnership if the pilot succeeds, and possible consideration for investment
- Sole ownership of your existing intellectual property and of anything you build during the programme
Who can apply
- Startups with a viable product that are already shipping to consumers
- Work that fits one of the themes published for the current cohort
- Any startup may apply; you do not have to be based in Bengaluru
- There is no fee
How selection works: applications are evaluated after the form closes and shortlisted startups are interviewed before the final cohort is picked. Flipkart Leap says the cohort is not capped at a set number of startups and that selection is merit and opportunity based.
How to apply: through the Apply Now menu on the Flipkart Leap site, which opens the current cohort's form on an outside application platform. No closing date is published for the current cohort, and the banner at the top of the site still advertises the previous one, so confirm the intake with leap@flipkart.com before you start.
Flipkart Leap Ahead
AcceleratorFlipkart's equity investment track for Indian tech-first startups, currently between intakes.
Best for: Indian tech-first startups with GenAI in the core of their product, preferably between seed and Series A
- Early revenue – Growth
- 60 days
- Online
- Free, takes equity
With Flipkart Ventures, Bain
What you get, who can apply and how to applyHide details
Leap Ahead is the investment half of Flipkart Leap. Flipkart Ventures, Flipkart's investment arm, takes equity in selected startups, and Flipkart Leap describes the investment as financial rather than strategic. Selected startups then run a sixty-day programme built around growth, ending in a demo day with invite-only investors. Three cohorts have been published. This track is closed right now — its own application page says entries are closed, and the site says the next cohort's timeline will be announced.
What you get
- An equity investment from Flipkart Ventures
- A curriculum built with founders and industry experts across fundraising, finance, product and marketing
- Mentoring from senior Flipkart leadership and subject matter experts
- Connects inside the Flipkart ecosystem and to the wider investor community
- Help co-developing the core product and the strategy around it
- A demo day with invited investors at the end
Who can apply
- Startups based in India
- Tech-first startups using GenAI in their core solution or product
- Preferably between seed and Series A, though an older answer on the site describes the same track as pre-seed and seed
- Sectors named: fintech, healthtech, logistics and supply chain, AI and machine learning, consumer tech, retail SaaS, sustainability, gaming, native AI, quick commerce enablement and drone tech
- An incorporated company — the form asks which country you are registered in
- There is no fee to join
How selection works: startups fill in the online form, applications are evaluated, and shortlisted startups are called for an interview before the final cohort is chosen. The cohort size is not fixed in advance.
How to apply: through the Apply Now menu on the Flipkart Leap site. Applications are closed at the moment, so watch that page or email leap@flipkart.com to be told when the next cohort opens.

How to apply to Flipkart Leap
Choosing between the two tracks
Flipkart Leap is two different offers under one name, and applying to the wrong one wastes the effort. Leap Ahead is for founders who want Flipkart as an investor and are ready to give up equity. Leap Innovation Network is for founders who want Flipkart as a customer, and it does not state that it takes equity. You may apply to both, but say why you fit each — they are judged against different questions.
Check which cohort is actually open
The site is maintained but not tidy. The banner across the top still advertises an Innovation Network cohort whose deadline has passed and whose selected startups are already published, while the Apply menu points at a newer cohort with no published deadline. Leap Ahead's form says entries are closed. Before you write anything, use the Apply menu rather than the banner, and if it is unclear, email leap@flipkart.com and ask which intake is live.
What the application asks for
The Leap Ahead form is detailed and goes well beyond a pitch deck. It asks for a short company description within a fixed character limit, your website, the unique selling point and right to win for your solution, your defensibility against competitors, a link to a product demo video, product testing access or credentials, any published whitepapers, patents or intellectual property, and the country your company is registered in. Have a working demo link and a defensibility answer ready before you open it, because those are the two that are hard to write on the spot.
What reviewers look for
Both tracks reward evidence over ambition. Leap Ahead asks for a tech-first Indian company with GenAI in the core of the product, preferably somewhere between seed and Series A. Innovation Network asks for a viable product already shipping to real consumers, in one of the themes published for that cohort. Read the current themes and answer them directly — they are rewritten every cohort and they are narrow, so a generic pitch reads as a poor fit.
How selection works
Applications are evaluated after the form closes, shortlisted startups are called for an interview, and the final cohort is picked from there. Flipkart Leap says the cohort size is not fixed in advance, so you are not competing for a set number of slots — you are being judged on whether there is a real exchange of value with Flipkart.
What to expect if you are selected
There is no fee on either track. The programme is run mostly online and you arrange your own travel and stay. On Leap Innovation Network you keep sole ownership of your existing intellectual property and of anything you build during the programme. On Leap Ahead you should expect to negotiate an equity investment, and the programme runs about sixty days and ends in a demo day with invited investors.
If you change your mind
Flipkart Leap runs a withdrawal form on its own site for pulling an application and having your details deleted from its records, and says you can email the programme inbox first with any questions.
About Flipkart Leap
Flipkart Leap is the startup accelerator run by Flipkart, the Indian e-commerce company. It is a corporate programme rather than a separate incubator: there is no campus, no office space and no registered incubation entity behind it, and Flipkart's own people run it. It works online, and startups from anywhere in India can apply.
The programme is split into two tracks that do quite different things. Flipkart Leap Ahead, shortened to FLA, is the investment track. Flipkart Leap Innovation Network, shortened to FLIN, is the pilot track. A founder can apply to one or to both, and the site is clear that they have different objectives.
How programmes work
Leap Ahead is built around Flipkart taking equity. Flipkart Leap says the track exists to find early-stage startups that could disrupt the digital ecosystem, and to back them with investment and growth acceleration. The investment is made by Flipkart Ventures, Flipkart's investment arm, and Flipkart Leap describes it as financial rather than strategic. Selected startups then go through a sixty-day programme meant to set them up for faster growth, ending in a demo day with invite-only investors. Alongside the money, startups get a curriculum built with founders and operators, mentoring from senior Flipkart people, introductions inside the Flipkart ecosystem and to the wider investor community, and help co-developing the core product and the strategy around it.
Leap Innovation Network works the other way round. Instead of investing, Flipkart buys. Selected startups get paid pilots, deploy their solution on Flipkart, and work directly with Flipkart product and engineering teams. A pilot that goes well can turn into a commercial partnership, and Flipkart Leap says startups may also be considered for investment afterwards. Startups keep sole ownership of the intellectual property they already have and of anything they build during the programme; Flipkart Leap notes that ownership may be revisited only if both sides go on to sign a deeper partnership.
Both tracks share a curriculum. The modules are delivered with Bain and cover business strategy, being a founder, performance and finance management, engineering strategy, finding product-market fit and knowing when to pivot, and fundraising, down to practical sessions on compliance and on startup finance. Cohort pages also list named Flipkart senior vice-presidents against the subject each one mentors on, from supply chain and marketplaces to data, growth, corporate affairs and finance.
Who can apply
There is no fee for either track. Flipkart Leap states plainly that startups do not need to be based in Bengaluru and that any startup can apply.
For Leap Ahead, the published criteria are that the startup is based in India, is tech-first and uses GenAI in its core solution or product, and is preferably between seed and Series A. Its application form asks which country the company is registered in, so an incorporated company is assumed. The sectors named on the Leap Ahead page are fintech, healthtech, logistics and supply chain, AI and machine learning, consumer tech across social, content and new commerce models, retail SaaS, sustainability, gaming, native AI, quick commerce enablement and drone tech. An older answer elsewhere on the site describes the same track as backing pre-seed and seed startups and lists a slightly different sector set, including edtech and Web3, so the two do not agree.
For Leap Innovation Network, the bar is a working business rather than a stage label: Flipkart Leap says the track suits startups that have a viable product and are already shipping to consumers in its areas of focus. Those areas are rewritten for each cohort. The ones currently published are next-generation logistics and hyperlocal intelligence, next-generation AI infrastructure and compute efficiency, and autonomous systems with continuous quality evaluation — in practice, deep-tech teams working on last-mile delivery, large GPU and CPU fleets, and self-monitoring production systems.
Selection is the same shape on both tracks. Startups fill in the application form, applications are evaluated, and shortlisted startups are called for an interview before the final cohort is picked. Flipkart Leap says the cohort is not capped at a set number of startups and that selection is merit and opportunity based.
Applying today
This is the part to check before you spend time on it. Leap Ahead is not accepting applications: its own application page says entries are closed, and the site still promises that dates for the next Leap Ahead cohort will be announced. Leap Innovation Network's apply link points at a sixth cohort on an external application platform, and its themes were rewritten recently, so that call looks live — but no closing date for it is published, and the announcement bar across the top of the site is out of date, still advertising the fifth cohort and a deadline that has passed, even though the fifth cohort's startups are already named on the site. If the timing matters to you, write to the programme inbox and ask which cohort is open before you start the form.
Track record
Flipkart Leap has been running since at least 2021, when its inaugural cohort of eight startups was announced. It has since published five Innovation Network cohorts and three Leap Ahead cohorts. Named alumni include ANS Commerce, Entropik, Fashinza, Gully Network, Piggy, Tagbox, Unbox Robotics and Wolkus Tech from the first batch, Expertia.AI, Factors.ai, Visa2Fly and Tune from the third Leap Ahead cohort, and Bureau, Warebee, Nudgebee, AccelData, Adaptive6, Ayudo and Keploy from the fourth and fifth Innovation Network cohorts. Flipkart Leap's home page also claims it has partnered with more than twenty-five startups globally, but that sentence sits next to a line saying the network is in its third edition, which the rest of the site contradicts, so treat the count as out of date.
Where it runs
The programme runs primarily online. Flipkart Leap says startups may be asked on site for some pitching or co-working sessions where that is feasible, but that startups arrange their own travel and stay and do not work from Flipkart premises. There is no published postal address for the programme; queries go to its shared email inbox.
