Host Institute, MSME Innovative Scheme (Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises)

Listed at entry 68 of the Ministry's published List of Host Institutes for the incubation component of the MSME Innovative Scheme, as "Lingayas Vidyapeeth" (FARIDABAD, HARYANA), checked 24 September 2026. This is the status that lets an innovator name the institute as their Host Institute when applying on the ministry's own portal. The list gives no approval date, no period and no status column, so whether the recognition is current cannot be told from it; and being listed is a capacity registration, not evidence that the institute has ever hosted an approved idea.

About Lingayas Vidyapeeth

Lingaya's Vidyapeeth runs an incubation centre in Faridabad, Haryana, for startups from its own community. The institute describes itself as a Deemed-to-be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, and its startup work sits under a written incubation policy and an Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Startup Centre.

How the incubator works

The incubator takes founders through pre-incubation and incubation, and its policy describes a post-incubation phase as well. Support covers mentoring and guidance from experienced mentors and industry experts, training and workshops on business skills, networking with industry and investors, and help with IPR, legal and financial matters.

The centre also runs an annual Investor Meet that brings startups together with angel investors, venture capitalists and industry experts. Its Grant Connect service helps startups and researchers identify and apply for grants and funding. A Funding for Product Development initiative supports startups as they turn ideas into market-ready products.

The policy documents describe these services in general terms. The pages do not give dates, cohort sizes or intake calendars for each one.

Who can apply

The incubation policy says it aims to encourage faculty members, alumni and students to become entrepreneurs. Students may set up a start-up during their studies.

A student or group of students must first identify a real-world problem that is worth tackling. The problem should relate to a societal issue.

Facilities

The incubator states that it provides office space and infrastructure, including high-speed internet, meeting rooms and other essential amenities. Startups can also use the institute's IDEA Lab, founded in 2024, which is a shared hub for students and faculty to build prototypes and apply STEM principles to real projects. The lab also serves as a hub for faculty to pursue interdisciplinary research, internships and mentorship.

Funding and equity

Seed support covers early-stage costs such as prototyping, market research and operations. The incubation policy also says the institute sets aside a minimum share of its budget for an innovation fund that supports innovative projects and startups.

The policy says the institute may take an equity stake of between 2% and 9.5% in a start-up in exchange for services and facilities. It also says the stake should normally be far smaller, depending on faculty involvement and use of the institute's IPR. The pages do not say how this applies to each startup. After incubation, the institute may set up a seed fund or connect startups to other seed-fund providers. The pages leave open whether seed money is committed in advance or only possible later.

Track record

The incubator page lists several student startups, with patent applications filed for a number of them. The page says these startups have won multiple national and state level recognitions, and it names the products they are building on the page itself.

Who runs it

The centre sits within Lingaya's Vidyapeeth, which the Lingaya's Group lists among its institutions. The group page says the institute was established in 1998. The institute's Institution's Innovation Council, set up under the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell, runs ideation workshops, design thinking and IPR activities on campus. It also organises hackathons, idea competitions and mini-challenges with the involvement of industries. The council's stated focus includes building a local innovation ecosystem across the university, and establishing a function to scout ideas and pre-incubate them.

Location

The institute is at Nachauli, Jasana Road, Faridabad, Haryana, PIN 121002.
