Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (SSCBS) is a constituent college of the University of Delhi, in Rohini, New Delhi. Its incubator is run by SSCBS Innovation and Incubation Foundation (SIIF), an independent not-for-profit Section 8 company set up under the Government of NCT of Delhi's incubation policy.

How the incubator works

SIIF runs three incubation tracks. Pre-incubation takes a founder from ideation to a minimum viable product (MVP) and lasts 3-6 months. Incubation runs for 24-36 months, from the creation of the company to the stabilization of its business model. Virtual incubation has the same 24-36 month length, but the startup does not sit in the incubation centre and works from outside it.

SIIF also runs a hands-on, weekend-based offline certificate programme called Entrepreneurship: The 3D Framework (Dream, Design, Deliver). It is aimed at aspiring entrepreneurs and uses experiential learning, with faculty and mentors supporting participants as they move from an idea to a pitch.

Who can apply

SIIF says its support is open to students, alumni, faculty and external founders from anywhere in India. The founders it works with are building technology or digital products, impact and social ventures, or services and D2C brands with real customer potential. The foundation says it welcomes founders from within and outside SSCBS. Selection is merit-based and cohort-timed, with rolling support where needed.

What founders get

SIIF offers mentorship from industry experts, help with customer interviews, pilot introductions and partner connects, and short sprints on problem validation, MVP design, go-to-market, unit economics, compliance and IP. It also provides a co-working space with modern facilities and holds events on entrepreneurship. SIIF says it helps founders reach seed funding through the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme.

Who runs it

SIIF is an independent Section 8 company with a formal board. The college's entrepreneurship cell, YUVA, works alongside it: YUVA helps identify talent on campus, runs idea hunts and directs student teams to SIIF programmes. Students who want help preparing a pitch can start with YUVA before they apply. SIIF is an independent Section 8 company with a formal board and clear processes. About the foundation

SIIF describes its aim as a resource catalyst that supports and nurtures creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship among students. It says it wants to become a centre of excellence that brings academia and industry together. It works alongside YUVA, the entrepreneurship cell of SSCBS, which the college's own pages describe as the flag bearer of entrepreneurship culture on campus. SIIF says it brings professional practices to help upcoming entrepreneurs, whether they are students, alumni, faculty or people from outside the college. Its chairperson's message says the college has encouraged entrepreneurship, innovation and a can-do spirit for decades.

SIIF's pages give different counts. Its homepage has shown both 80+ and 40+ onboarded startups at different times, and its mentor count reads 13 on the mentor page but differs on the homepage. Treat these as the foundation's own self-reported figures, and check the current number with SIIF before relying on it.
