SRM Institute of Science and Technology is a private university that teaches across six campuses, at Kattankulathur, Ramapuram and Vadapalani in Chennai, at Tiruchirappalli, at Delhi NCR, and at Baburayanpettai, Acharapakkam in Chengalpattu. Its faculties span engineering and technology, management, science and humanities, law, architecture, agricultural sciences, and medicine and health sciences including dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and public health, with undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral study as well as online and distance education. Research runs through a Directorate of Research, central laboratories and specialised centres covering areas such as nanotechnology, statistics and earthquake research. Innovation and entrepreneurship sit with a Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, an Innovation Hub, an incubation function and a FAB LAB. International work includes a Semester Abroad Programme, twinning and transfer pathways, faculty and student exchange, and an International Advisory Board constituted in 2003.
