What selectors look at
Saksham applications are judged on the stage of the startup, product maturity, market potential, customer traction, scalability, team capability and fit with the programme's objectives. Shortlisted startups may be invited for further evaluation or interviews. Show real users or pilots, not only a product.
Check the dates
The programme page shows a deadline of 15 Nov 2026 and a start of 19 Sep 2026, and an earlier news item gave a September close. Email info@startupjharkhand.org to confirm that the round is still open before you invest time in an application. Selected startups are expected to attend all required sessions, engage with mentors and complete assigned milestones.
About Startup Jharkhand
Startup Jharkhand is a non-government, Section 8 not-for-profit startup accelerator for founders in Ranchi and across Jharkhand, run by I-Hub Startup Jharkhand Foundation. It began as a foundation team in November 2023 and has since run three completed Saksham accelerator cohorts and a growing calendar of founder events.
Its work is organised around three things: fundraising readiness, market access and capacity building. Fundraising readiness means equipping founders with the metrics, narrative and connections to raise institutional capital. Market access means opening doors to enterprise clients, government procurement and strategic pilots. Capacity building covers the accelerator, masterclasses and the mentor network. The site lists 15+ mentors, an advisory board that includes former and current startup CEOs, and 25+ portfolio startups across sectors such as AgriTech, FoodTech, DeepTech, SaaS and Health and Wellness.
Programmes
Saksham is the flagship accelerator. Saksham 1.0 selected a cohort of 5 startups from 100+ applications, Saksham 2.0 onboarded 12 startups from 100+ applications, and Saksham 3.0 selected 14 startups from 200+ applications. Saksham 4.0 is the current round: a 6-8 week mentorship programme for startups that already have an MVP or working product and early customers, users or pilots. It is listed as free to apply and does not promise funding; it prepares startups to be investment-ready and creates introductions.
NIRMAN 1.0 is a pre-accelerator for aspiring founders and early builders, from a solid idea to an MVP in progress, open to founders in any sector who are solving a real-world problem. It offers mentorship, workshops and masterclasses, peer community and help building, testing and launching an MVP.
Alongside these, Startup Jharkhand runs a monthly Startup Mixer in Ranchi and Jamshedpur, an intimate founder roundtable of 15-20 entrepreneurs, plus the annual Entrepreneurial Connect summit and IGNITE, a campus ecosystem builder programme.
Who it is for
Saksham is primarily designed for startups in the Startup Jharkhand ecosystem, but startups from other states are also eligible to apply. A founder with only an idea should look at NIRMAN first and Saksham once there is a product and early customers.
What it is not
Startup Jharkhand is an accelerator and community, not a grant-giver. Its pages describe mentorship, workshops, networking and investor readiness, and state plainly that participation does not guarantee funding.
