About STPI CoE-EA, Bengaluru

STPI CoE-EA, Bengaluru

The Centre of Excellence for Efficiency Augmentation (CoE-EA) is a flagship incubation initiative set up by Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) in collaboration with the Government of Karnataka and Hewlett Packard Enterprise India Private Limited (HPEIPL). Situated at Jayanagar, Bengaluru, CoE-EA is the first of its kind in India designed specifically to foster startup innovation that improves operational efficiency across industrial, service, and government verticals through emerging Industry 4.0 technologies.

What CoE-EA Does

CoE-EA brings together innovation, creativity, and new business development under one roof, helping startups build products and solutions that augment efficiency in manufacturing, the service sector, and government operations. The centre focuses on commercialising technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT), Smart Manufacturing, Home & Office Automation, Smart Energy, and Smart Water management.

As an international-standard facility, CoE-EA aims to foster collaboration between the global tech community, Indian industry, and talent development institutions — addressing technology's impact on infrastructure and business transformation.

Incubation Facilities

CoE-EA offers a purpose-built 16,000 sq ft incubation facility with more than 100 plug-and-play seats, an Innovation and Development Lab equipped with the latest tools and equipment, and co-working spaces designed for deep-tech startups. Incubatees get access to:

  • State-of-the-art hardware and software labs
  • Dedicated mentorship, monitoring, review, and feedback from an expert team
  • Connectivity to venture capital firms and funding agencies
  • Incubation infrastructure without the capital expenditure

Eligibility and Who Should Apply

Individuals, early-stage startups, and organisations working on solutions at the intersection of Industry 4.0 and operational efficiency are encouraged to apply. The programme is particularly suited for deep-tech founders building products in:

  • Industrial IoT and smart manufacturing
  • AI/ML-driven process optimisation
  • Energy and water management
  • Automation for SMEs, large enterprises, or government departments

Support Ecosystem

Startups at CoE-EA benefit from STPI's broader national network, which includes access to MeitY-linked funding schemes, policy advocacy, international market linkages, and a robust alumni and mentor community. The collaboration with Hewlett Packard Enterprise brings world-class enterprise technology partnerships and go-to-market support.

Why Apply

CoE-EA is backed by two of India's strongest institutional supporters of the startup ecosystem — STPI (under MeitY, Government of India) and the Government of Karnataka — making it one of the most credible and well-resourced deep-tech incubators in South India. Startups gain not just physical infrastructure but regulatory support, investor access, and the legitimacy of a government-recognised incubation programme.
