Xynteo is a strategic advisory firm founded in 2004, originally based in Oslo, Norway, and now headquartered in London, United Kingdom, with offices in India. The firm specializes in building cross-sector coalitions that bring together corporations, governments, and civil society to solve systemic challenges around sustainability, energy transition, and inclusive growth. Xynteo was acquired by Leon Capital and Umbra Capital Partners in February 2023.
Xynteo is not a traditional accelerator or incubator. Its role in the startup ecosystem is indirect but significant: it creates platforms and coalitions where startups can access corporate partners, pilot opportunities, and policy support. Through its India-focused Vikaasa initiative and the Energy Leap hydrogen accelerator, Xynteo has created structured pathways for clean energy and sustainability startups to engage with large enterprises.
Startups engaged through Xynteo's programs include TrashCon and Suzhiyam Industrial Machines.
Clean energy, sustainability, and climate tech startups, particularly those working on hydrogen, industrial decarbonisation, waste management, and low-carbon building materials. Indian startups focused on SDG-aligned solutions benefit from Vikaasa's corporate coalition and its access to large enterprises.
Xynteo occupies a unique niche: it is neither a VC nor an accelerator, but a coalition builder that creates the conditions for startups to scale through corporate partnerships. For Indian clean tech and sustainability startups, the Vikaasa platform provides access to a curated network of enterprises that are actively seeking innovative solutions for their operations.
