What it is
Techkriti'27, the annual techno-entrepreneurial festival of IIT Kanpur, presents Capture the Flag (CTF) — a cybersecurity competition in which participants solve practical security challenges inside a simulated real-world environment. Competitors identify vulnerabilities, apply technical problem-solving skills, and capture hidden flags to score points.
Who it's for
The contest is open to undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and working professionals worldwide. Participants may compete solo or in teams of up to two members; the contest is team-rated, so anyone forming a team must register accordingly. Only participants currently enrolled as university students are eligible for prizes.
What to expect
Agenda highlights
Participants will need to select the right tools and techniques for each problem, moving from reconnaissance and vulnerability identification through to exploitation and flag extraction. The difficulty curve is designed to test how well competitors analyse systems and adapt their approach under time pressure.
