Disastrix: The Last City Standing is a team-based strategy competition hosted by Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce (SGGSCC), a constituent college of Delhi University in New Delhi. The event puts participants in charge of an Indian city and tests how well they read the news, manage a limited budget, and outsmart rival teams under pressure.
What it is Disaster is coming, and you don't know what, when, or how bad. Each team runs one city, and every city has its own population, budget, strengths, and weaknesses, so no two teams play the same game. Cities are assigned by the organisers at the start of the event and cannot be swapped.
Who it's for Students and teams of 2-4 members who enjoy strategy, current affairs, and competitive problem-solving. Participants must carry their college ID cards for the event.
Competition structure The competition runs across 3 rounds over about 90 minutes. Each round follows the same loop:
Round 1 is a rapid-fire quiz, Round 2 is a build-and-survive challenge, and Round 3 is a communication challenge plus one surprise. The winner is the team with the highest population after Round 3. The team that reads the news best also earns the title of Smartest Analyst.
