What it is
IARC (International Autonomous Robotics Challenge) is the flagship autonomous robotics competition of Techkriti, the annual techno-management festival of IIT Kanpur. Participants design, build, and program an autonomous robot from scratch, then pit it against others in an arena where it must complete a defined set of tasks without human intervention. Judging weighs design and fabrication precision alongside the intelligence of the sensor suite and control code.
Who it's for
Engineering students, robotics enthusiasts, and hardware builders from colleges across India and abroad. Teams may be formed across institutions, making it a natural fit for interdisciplinary groups combining mechanical, electronics, and software skills. The previous edition drew 40+ teams to the final round, reflecting its standing as one of the most competitive student robotics events in the country.
