What it is A talk and open dialogue session on how artificial intelligence is reshaping education, hosted by Lossfunk Event Calendar in Bengaluru. The session is built around a single provocative question: as AI starts to explain almost anything, what is a classroom actually for?
Who it's for Founders and builders working in edtech, AI, and learning tools; educators and academic researchers; product managers and designers thinking about assessment, personalisation, and learner experience; and anyone in the Indian startup ecosystem curious about where AI and education intersect.
What to expect AI is changing how we learn, teach and assess. Personalised tutors, instant feedback and generative tools can widen access to quality education, but they also raise hard questions about original thinking, equity and the role of the teacher. The goal of this talk is to create an environment of dialogue and ideas in the room, so expect discussion rather than a one-way lecture.
About the speaker Dr. Prathosh A. P. is an Assistant Professor in the ECE department at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, and co-founder of Latentforce, which builds AI infrastructure for coding agents. His research focuses on deep learning, representation learning, and data-efficient machine learning, with applications in digital healthcare. He earned his Ph.D. from IISc in 2015 and previously taught at IIT Delhi and worked in research roles at Xerox and Philips. He also co-founded Cogniable, a startup developing AI tools for behavioural healthcare.
Format and access The session runs for one hour and is free to attend. It is held in Bengaluru, with an online option available via Google Meet at meet.google.com/dqi-cwwr-jiw for those who cannot attend in person.
Why it matters for the ecosystem India's edtech and applied-AI startup space is large and fast-moving, and conversations that connect deep academic research with product-building realities are genuinely useful for founders deciding what to build and how to build it responsibly. This session sits at that intersection - research-grade thinking on data-efficient ML and healthcare AI, paired with a founder's view of where AI tooling is heading.
