The Liar's Chatroom is a 48-hour online Kaggle competition that blends Natural Language Processing (NLP) with digital forensics. Organised by the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Bangalore, the challenge invites participants to build an AI model capable of detecting deception within fictional group-chat conversations.
What It Is
Each conversation in the dataset features four characters - A, B, C, and D - where exactly one character makes a statement that contradicts the verified facts. Participants must train a model that identifies the liar with high accuracy, turning a playful premise into a rigorous machine learning problem.
Who It's For
The competition is open to data scientists, machine learning engineers, NLP enthusiasts, students, and developers interested in applied AI. Participants may compete individually or in teams of up to four members, making it suitable for both solo practitioners and collaborative groups.
