Track record

What National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises reports about its portfolio.

These are ni-msme's own undated homepage figures and cover everything the institute has done since the 1960s: 17,672 programmes conducted, 6,07,497 participants trained, 2,10,062 unemployed youth trained, 6,840 skill development programmes and 962 research and consultancy projects. None of them is a startup count. The institute publishes no portfolio of ventures.

6,07,497Entrepreneurs supportedni-msme's own homepage figure for participants trained, undated. It covers everyone put through its programmes since the 1960s, including bank officers, state officials and trainers, so it is not a count of entrepreneurs or startups.

All figures self-reported — nimsme.gov.in, as of Sept 2026.

Programmes they run

Standing programmes at National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, separate from the funding calls above.

ni-msme is a training institute, so these are courses you book rather than cohorts you are selected into. There is no equity, no seed funding and, on the open programmes, no selection step. The one thing to check every time is the "Who can attend?" list: a large part of the calendar is capacity building for government officials, bankers, trainers and rural livelihood mission staff rather than for business owners.

ni-msme's annual calendar of short training programmes, 68 of them across 2026-27, open to anyone who registers and pays.

Best for: MSME owners, founders and professionals who need a short, specific course; also officials and trainers, on separate programmes

  • 1 to 6 days per programme
  • Hybrid
  • Paid, no equity
What you get, who can apply and how to apply

This is ni-msme's main offer and the thing an MSME owner or founder can actually enrol in. The 2026-27 calendar lists 68 short programmes between May 2026 and March 2027, run by the School of Enterprise Development, the School of Enterprise Management, and the School of Entrepreneurship and Extension. Most are two to five days. Most run at the Hyderabad campus, a few are online.

What you get

  • A short classroom or online programme with a named programme director from the institute's faculty
  • Titles aimed at business owners include export readiness and global market access, business plan generation from idea to execution, startup to scale-up, a young entrepreneur launchpad on idea, plan and pitch, leadership and growth strategies for MSME owners, IPR strategy for startups and MSMEs, working capital assessment for SMEs, project appraisal and risk analysis, GeM and public procurement, TReDS and receivables financing, digital marketing and e-commerce, AI for MSMEs, EV technology, green enterprise and circular economy, and agri-business value addition
  • A residential or non-residential seat where the programme runs on campus

Who can apply

  • Eligibility is set per programme, on that programme's own page under "Who can attend?"
  • Open programmes name MSME entrepreneurs, startup founders, business owners and professionals, with no incorporation, turnover or geography requirement
  • A large part of the calendar is instead for government officials, bankers, trainers, faculty and rural livelihood mission resource persons. Those are staff training, not founder training, and the attendee list is the only reliable way to tell

How selection works: There is none. Registration is open until the programme fills.

How to apply: Open the programme from the training programmes listing or the annual calendar, create or sign in to a ni-msme account, pick a registration category and pay online. Registration counts only once you activate the account from the confirmation email. Questions can go to ar@nimsme.gov.in.

  • In person

What you get, who can apply and how to apply

Who can apply

  • Graduates who want to work in IP and legal firms, or freelance as consultants

How selection works: There is none.

How to apply: Register on the programme page and pay online. Worth flagging that this is a professional qualification course. If you only want to protect your own brand, the institute's IP centre is the cheaper route.

  • Paid, no equity
What you get, who can apply and how to apply

Runs online over Google Meet from 28 September to 02 October 2026, 10:00 to 13:00. It is not one.

  • Professionals in MSME development and promotion
  • Skill development and training officials
  • Enterprise promotion and business development professionals

How to apply to National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises

“Training of Trainers on Entrepreneurship Development” और “Entrepreneurship Excellence Programme for Mentors” दोनों founder कोर्स जैसे लगते हैं, और दोनों में से कोई भी नहीं है।

About National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises

National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (ni-msme),

व्यवसाय मालिकों के लिए बने शीर्षकों में export readiness और global market access, idea से execution तक business plan generation, startup से scale-up, idea, plan और pitch पर एक young entrepreneur launchpad, MSME मालिकों के लिए leadership और growth strategies, startups और MSMEs के लिए IPR strategy, SMEs के लिए working capital assessment, project appraisal और risk analysis, GeM और public procurement, TReDS और receivables financing, digital marketing और e-commerce, MSMEs के लिए AI, EV technology, green enterprise और circular economy, और agri-business value addition शामिल हैं।

Training of Trainers on Entrepreneurship Development
