ACIC VGU Foundation is an incubation centre established under the aegis of Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, at Vivekananda Global University in Jaipur, Rajasthan. It holds the distinction of being India's first Atal Community Innovation Centre (ACIC) at a private university. The foundation is dedicated to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities by empowering early-stage startups, student innovators, and grassroots entrepreneurs through structured incubation support.
ACIC VGU Foundation addresses a critical gap in India's startup infrastructure by bringing institutional incubation support to Jaipur and surrounding regions. Most high-quality incubators concentrate in metros like Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi. By operating in Rajasthan with a focus on grassroots and community-level innovation, the foundation reaches innovators at the bottom of the pyramid who might otherwise lack access to structured startup support. Its mission is to reduce the lab-to-land distance and create space for pre-incubation of ideas.
The foundation runs structured incubation programs with access to six prototyping labs, coworking spaces, and dedicated studios. It offers mentorship through a network of 50+ mentors, funding access guidance, and hands-on lab facilities for product development. ACIC VGU has conducted over 200 events, built 60+ partnerships with industry and academic institutions, and runs regular bootcamps and cohort programs. The foundation supports startups across sectors including design and craft, handicrafts, lifestyle, fashion, agriculture, and technology, with a particular emphasis on solutions relevant to local communities and markets.
First-time founders, student entrepreneurs, grassroots innovators, and artisan-entrepreneurs from Rajasthan and surrounding states benefit most. The foundation is especially relevant for founders developing solutions in agriculture, handicrafts, design, and lifestyle sectors that serve local and regional markets. Its pre-incubation track helps aspiring entrepreneurs who are still refining their ideas before committing to a full startup journey.
ACIC VGU Foundation contributes to India's startup decentralization by proving that quality incubation can thrive outside tier-1 cities. Having incubated over 140 startups and impacted 15,000+ aspiring entrepreneurs, the foundation demonstrates the viability of community-driven innovation centres. Its partnership with NITI Aayog through the Atal Innovation Mission ensures alignment with national innovation priorities while maintaining a local, community-focused approach.
