About this Opportunity

The Bosch-BMU Innovation Challenge is a 16-week innovation and prototyping program aimed at fostering solutions for safe, inclusive, and sustainable mobility. The program seeks to identify and support startups, innovators, and researchers working on impactful and scalable mobility solutions that reduce environmental impact, enhance road safety, and improve accessibility.

Key focus areas include connectivity, synthetic fuels and clean technologies, electrification, innovative brake systems, lightweight materials, EV safety and charging, and inclusive mobility solutions for persons with disabilities, elderly users, and women. Selected participants receive structured support to validate problem-solution fit, build working prototypes, and develop commercialization and go-to-market strategies with guidance from industry experts.

Eligibility

  • Early-stage startups, individual innovators, researchers, and teams working in sustainable mobility and road safety domains
  • Minimum applicant age of 18 years
  • Both product-based and service-based innovations are eligible
  • Ideas must be legal in India, technology-enabled, innovative, scalable, and community-impact oriented
  • Startup registration is mandatory before receiving financial support, but not at the time of application
  • Applicants with existing startups, prior work, or prior funding are eligible with disclosure

Application Process

  • Submit an online application
  • Applications undergo multi-stage jury-led screening and pitching
  • Selected participants join Phase 1 (4 weeks) focused on validation and design thinking
  • Phase 2 (12 weeks) focuses on prototype development, mentorship, and commercialization planning
  • Prototype grants are released based on milestone completion and Bosch approval
  • Final showcase and industry/investor interactions conclude the program
