About Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC)

The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) is an autonomous regulatory body in the National Capital Territory of Delhi responsible for monitoring, controlling, and mitigating environmental pollution. Established on June 1, 1991, after the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) delegated its powers under the Water Prevention and Control of Pollution Act, 1974, and the Air Prevention and Control of Pollution Act, 1981.

DPCC is headed by the Secretary (Environment & Forest), Government of NCT of Delhi. Its functions include issuing consent certificates to industries, authorizing hospitals and medical facilities for waste management, advising the Delhi Government on pollution prevention and control, organizing mass awareness programs, and collecting technical and statistical data on water and air pollution. DPCC also operates real-time ambient air quality monitoring across Delhi.

The committee plays a critical regulatory role for industries and businesses operating in Delhi.
