About Echoing Green
Echoing Green finds emerging social-impact leaders early and backs them with seed funding, leadership development and a lifelong Fellow community. Founded over 35 years ago, its Fellows work across education, climate justice, human rights and health. Alumni include Van Jones (1994), founder of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, and Rohit Malhotra (2015), founder of the Center for Civic Innovation. Its selection model deliberately prioritises leaders and communities less likely to reach traditional investment, and looks past business plans and credentials to indicators of long-term leadership.
