Hyundai Motor India Engineering

Hyundai Motor India Engineering Private Limited (HMIE) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company, South Korea, set up in Hyderabad in November 2006. Based in the Hi-tech City area, it is one of Hyundai Motor Company's overseas engineering and technical centres, alongside centres in South Korea, the United States, Germany and China. Its team of around 900 engineers provides research and development support to Hyundai and Kia in Namyang, Hyundai Motor India Limited in Chennai and Kia India in Penukonda, covering computer aided design, computer aided engineering, styling, vehicle evaluation and testing, regulation and certification, and product planning. HMIE has worked on Hyundai models including the Grand i10, Elite i20, Creta and Verna. It organises the Hyundai CoE Mobility Innovation Ideathon, a prize competition for students at the seven Hyundai Center of Excellence member universities in India.
