What you get, who can apply and how to applyHide details
LAN is a group of investors who give financial support, mentorship and guidance to early-stage startups. You apply directly, with no introduction needed, and shortlisted startups pitch to the network's investors.
Who can apply
- Early-stage startups in any industry with an innovative solution, a scalable business model and a capable team
- Main focus on Ludhiana and Punjab, with applications from across India considered
- Stage on the form: idea or concept, proof of concept, or operational
How selection works: the team reviews your proposal, then invites shortlisted startups to pitch. Funding talks follow if investors are interested, and the network says funding typically takes two to three months to finalise after a successful pitch.
How to apply: use the Startup tab of the Join Us page on the network's website. The form asks for sector, stage, the year you began, an elevator pitch, traction and a pitch deck. There is no fee to apply or pitch. Questions go to info@ludhianaangelsnetwork.com.

How to apply to Ludhiana Angels Network
Start with the right route
- You want investment: apply through the startup form on the network's Join Us page. You do not need an introduction and there is no fee to apply or pitch.
- You want a longer, structured programme: the two-year incubation programme is for early-stage startups. The network publishes no intake dates, so ask by email before you plan around it.
- You want to meet investors informally: Samagam, Fuelerator and the monthly Startup Club are places to meet the network. Fuelerator 1.0 (November 2025) is over and a second edition is listed as coming soon.
- You are a student or school pupil: the Entrepreneurship Development Program, UDAY and Shikhar are the student programmes. They are not routes to investment.
How the funding application works
- Submit the startup form with your sector, stage, the year you began, an elevator pitch, your traction and a pitch deck.
- The team screens your proposal first. If you are shortlisted, you are invited to pitch to the network's investors.
- Funding talks follow only if investors are interested. After a successful pitch, the network says funding typically takes two to three months to finalise.
What reviewers look for
The network says it looks at:
- the experience of the team
- market potential
- how innovative the solution is
- whether the business can scale
- competitive advantage
- financial projections
Before you apply
- Choose the stage on the form honestly: idea or concept, proof of concept, or operational. Traction is a separate question, so have real numbers ready.
- Ludhiana and Punjab startups are the network's main focus, but it considers applications from across India. Say clearly why you are a fit if you are based elsewhere.
- The network describes itself as open to any sector and also says it leans toward manufacturing and supply chain. If you are in another sector, make the scalability case strongly.
- Write the pitch deck for investors who may meet you in person, since shortlisted startups pitch to the network's members.

About Ludhiana Angels Network
Ludhiana Angels Network, usually called LAN, is an angel investor network based in Ludhiana, Punjab. It is a limited liability partnership of investor-directors that reviews startup applications and brings shortlisted founders to pitch to its investors. Alongside investing, it runs a two-year incubation programme, startup events and a set of programmes for students.
How the network works
LAN describes itself as a group of investors who give financial support, mentorship and guidance to early-stage startups. A founder does not need an introduction. A startup applies directly through a form on the network's website, and the team then reviews the proposal. Shortlisted startups are invited to pitch to the network's investors, and funding discussions follow if investors are interested.
The network says there is no fee to apply to LAN or to pitch to it. It also says that, after a successful pitch, funding typically takes two to three months to be finalised and paid out. The size of an investment depends on the business's needs, its stage and its potential for growth.
Who can apply
LAN looks for early-stage startups in any industry with an innovative solution, a scalable business model and a capable team. The startup form asks for the sector, the stage (idea or concept, proof of concept, or operational), the year the startup began, an elevator pitch, traction so far and a pitch deck. The network says it judges applications on team experience, market potential, innovation, scalability, competitive advantage and financial projections.
On geography, the network's own pages agree. Its main focus is startups in Ludhiana and Punjab, but it considers applications from across India. On sector, its pages are less consistent. It describes itself as open to any sector, and its homepage also says it is more focused on manufacturing and supply chain. Both statements are on the site, so a founder outside manufacturing should still apply but should not assume a manufacturing bias is absent.
Incubation programme
LAN runs a two-year incubation programme for early-stage startups, described as crafted with MBCIE, the IITs, the IIMs and ISB. It has four steps: submit an application, selection, an interview and onboarding. Applications are shortlisted on potential impact, innovation and fit with the programme's objectives. The programme offers extended mentorship, access to partner facilities such as labs, business development tools and market research databases, networking and advanced workshops.
The network does not publish intake dates for the incubation programme, and its page does not link to a separate application form. The startup form on its Join Us page is the only startup application form on the website.
Events and community
Samagam is a gathering that brings together aspiring entrepreneurs, industry leaders, venture capitalists and investors, with startup pitches as part of the programme. The network has pages for the 2024, 2025 and 2026 editions.
Fuelerator 1.0 was held in November 2025 with Startup Punjab and focused on agri, food and beverage startups in Punjab and beyond. Seven startups pitched at the event. The network lists a second edition as coming soon.
Startup Club is a monthly gathering held round-robin at different locations. It mixes informal discussion, pitching rehearsals, pitch refinement and networking. LAN also runs bootcamps for aspiring entrepreneurs, with hands-on training in business development, marketing and investment readiness, mostly at partner colleges.
Programmes for students
Several LAN programmes are for students rather than startups. The Entrepreneurship Development Program is aimed at school students and charges a registration fee. UDAY, short for Unleash Young India, is a theme-based residential learning programme for students in Classes 8 to 12, with its own website. Shikhar is a nationwide competition in which students build technical solutions and prototypes for societal problems, with a final round on the MBCIE campus; the network's page gives December 2024 for its first edition and no later edition. MILEPOST is an e-newsletter for teenagers interested in entrepreneurship.
Investors and partners
People who want to join as angel investors or mentors express interest through an investor registration form, which the network reviews and approves. Members can then take part in startup pitches, discussions and investments. The form asks for an introduction, a current venture, preferred sectors, previous investments and exits, and how much they plan to invest.
The network's homepage names these associated partners: IIT Ropar, IIT Mandi, ISB Mohali, GNDEC, CII, PSCST, IISER Mohali, GADVASU, NIT Jalandhar and IHUB IIT Mandi. News published by Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University reports that VLIIF, a company at the university, signed an MoU with LAN to give VLIIF startups a route to mentorship, investment guidance and early-stage funding support.
Scale
LAN's homepage carries counters showing more than 20 investors, more than 81 startups applied and more than 6 startups selected. These are the network's own undated figures. They count startups that applied and were selected, not startups that received funding, so read them as a rough sense of how selective the process is.
Who runs it
LAN names eight directors on its website: Suman Kant Munjal, Vijay Munjal, Sanjeev Pahwa, J.R. Singal, Umesh Munjal, S.K. Rai, Vineet Sood and Harpreet Soin. Shibananda Dash is the Chief Executive Officer.
