Track record

What MIET Incubation Forum reports about its portfolio.

Every figure here is the forum's own and undated. Its home page and its profile document give different numbers for the same things, so the count taken from its named rosters is the one to lean on.

99Startups supportedCounted from the forum's own three published rosters on 24 September 2026: 67 on board, 26 graduated, 6 virtual. Its home page counter says 100+ and its profile document says 87, so its pages do not agree; this is the only figure backed by named entries.computed from our data

Programmes they run

Standing programmes at MIET Incubation Forum, separate from the funding calls above.

One intake, two shapes. Physical incubation puts you on the Meerut campus and is where nearly everyone on the roster sits; virtual incubation is the off-campus route and has been quiet since 2022. Pre-incubation and an accelerator rung are named by the forum but have no page or cohort behind them.

LaunchPad @MIF

Incubation

The forum's open call for new incubatees, advertised across its site.

Best for: Founders who want a place on the Meerut campus

  • In person
What you get, who can apply and how to apply

LaunchPad @MIF is the call the forum was advertising in a ticker on every page of its site when we checked. It is the front door to on-campus incubation.

Who can apply: not published on the call itself. The forum sets no incorporation, geography or category gate anywhere on its site.

How selection works: the forum's standard nine steps — pre-screening, panel review, an expert-panel interview, in-principle approval, negotiation of terms, then a signed agreement.

How to apply: through the call link in the site ticker, the Get Incubated button on any page, or incubation@miet.ac.in. The call is hosted on a third-party platform that blocked us, so ask the forum directly for its terms and closing date.

Official programme page

On-campus incubation with a cubicle, workshop access and support through to graduation.

Best for: Founders who can be on campus in Meerut

  • Idea – Early revenue
  • Runs to graduation; no fixed term published
  • In person
What you get, who can apply and how to apply

The forum's main offer, and the one with a published roster behind it: sixty-seven businesses were listed as on board when we checked, the earliest association dating to 2017.

What you get

  • A cubicle with a computer and a personal locker, plus a conference room and a separate meeting room
  • Round-the-clock internet and electricity
  • Mentoring, with the forum reporting over twenty-five signed mentor agreements
  • Patent and trademark help, company registration and GST help
  • Government e-Marketplace training, digital marketing and website development help
  • The fabrication section and rapid prototyping lab, plus access to MIET's Centre of Excellence laboratories
  • A display room on campus for incubatee and self-help-group products

Who can apply

  • Outside founders as well as students — the roster is mostly working Meerut-region businesses
  • No incorporation requirement, geography gate or category gate is published
  • Sector-agnostic, with agri tech the largest group by some margin

How selection works: application, pre-screening, panel review, expert-panel interview, in-principle approval, negotiation of terms, signed agreement, then services on campus and support until graduation, when the business relocates off campus.

How to apply: the Get Incubated button on any page of the forum's site, the LaunchPad @MIF call, or incubation@miet.ac.in. No deadline is published and the roster dates suggest rolling intake.

Full Physical incubation guide

An off-campus route for founders who cannot take a desk in Meerut.

Best for: Founders who cannot be on campus

  • Online
What you get, who can apply and how to apply

The forum lists virtual incubation alongside the physical route, with its own roster and its own registration series. It is small: six businesses have ever been listed and the most recent joined in December 2022, while the forum's own profile document counts two current virtual incubatees. Check it is still running before you plan around it.

Who can apply: founders who cannot be on campus. The six listed span edtech, an agri marketplace, online education, staffing and security products, and are not all Meerut-based.

How selection works: the forum publishes no separate process, so expect the same nine steps as the on-campus route.

How to apply: the same routes — the Get Incubated button, the LaunchPad call, or incubation@miet.ac.in.

Company registration and GST registration help, with a GST Suvidha Center on the same campus.

Market access

Government e-Marketplace portal training so incubatees can sell to government buyers, plus digital marketing help.

Design services

Website development for incubatees.

Recognitions & empanelments

Official approvals this incubator holds.

All three are recognitions the forum states in its own profile document. None could be confirmed against a public register on 24 September 2026, so ask for registration references if one matters to you.

Recognised by the Ministry of MSME (stated by the forum)

The forum's own profile document carries a slide headed "MIET Incubation Forum recognized by" naming MSME. We could not confirm it: the ministry's MSME Innovative portal returns an error for every host-institute list address we tried on 24 September 2026. Treat it as the forum's own claim and ask for the registration reference.

Startup India recognition (stated by the forum)

Named on the same slide of the forum's profile document. Not confirmed against the Startup India incubator directory, which needs a browser to query. Ask for the reference.

Start in UP, Government of Uttar Pradesh (stated by the forum)

Named on the same slide. Not confirmed against the Start in UP portal. Two supporting but indirect signs: the forum's events page lists a memorandum signing with the state government, and its track record slide says one incubatee was selected for a Start in UP grant.

How to apply to MIET Incubation Forum

Which route to ask about

The forum runs one real intake with two shapes. Physical incubation puts you in a cubicle on the MIET campus in Meerut and is by far the larger of the two, with sixty-seven businesses currently on the roster. Virtual incubation is for founders who cannot be on campus; only six have ever been listed and the most recent joined in 2022, so ask directly whether it is still taking people.

Pre-incubation, described as proof of concept and fellowship support, and an accelerator rung for scale-up are both named in the forum's own materials but have no page, no cohort and no dates behind them. Ask about them by name rather than waiting for a call to open.

How applications work

Start from the Get Incubated button on the forum's site, or the LaunchPad @MIF call it advertises in the ticker across every page. You can also write to the incubation inbox at MIET. There is no published deadline and the dates on the roster are spread right across the calendar, so intake looks rolling rather than cohort-based.

How selection works

The forum publishes its sequence, and it is worth knowing all nine steps before you start:

  • Your application is pre-screened.
  • A panel reviews it.
  • You interview with an expert panel.
  • You get in-principle approval.
  • Terms are negotiated.
  • An agreement is executed.
  • Services begin on campus.
  • Support continues until graduation.
  • The business relocates off campus.

The interview is the real gate, and the terms step comes after it, not before. The forum does not publish whether it charges a fee or takes equity, so go into the negotiation step expecting to ask: what the agreement covers, how long you can stay, what triggers graduation, and what, if anything, you give up.

What reviewers look for

The roster is the best guide to fit. It is heavily weighted towards businesses that make or sell something physical in western Uttar Pradesh: agri produce and processing, waste management, printing, sports goods, security hardware, food. Software and edutech are there but in smaller numbers. Deep research spin-outs are not what this place is built around; a working business with local customers is.

Two things the forum clearly values, judging by what it puts on its own front page: revenue, with four portfolio companies singled out for crossing a crore in a year, and jobs created. If you can show either, or a credible path to them, lead with that.

Worth checking before you apply

The forum states it is recognised by MSME, Startup India and StartinUP. We could not confirm any of the three against a public register, so if a recognition matters to your application, ask for the registration reference and check it yourself. Its own headline numbers also disagree between its website and its profile document; the named rosters are the figures to trust.

About MIET Incubation Forum

MIET Incubation Forum, usually written MIF, is a Section 8 company that incubates start-ups on the campus of Meerut Institute of Engineering & Technology, at the Baghpat Road crossing on the NH-58 Meerut bypass in Uttar Pradesh. It describes itself as a network of academicians, founders and mentors, and it is run day to day by a chief executive with an advisory panel drawn from the MIET group and two outside mentors. It has its own site at mietincubator.com, separate from the college's site at miet.ac.in.

It is worth being clear about which body is which on this campus. The college lists MIET Incubation Forum and ACIC MIET Meerut Foundation, its Atal Community Innovation Centre, as two separate central facilities with two separate documents behind them. They share a campus and some laboratories, but they are different organisations, and what follows is the Incubation Forum only.

How programmes work

The forum describes three rungs. Pre-incubation covers proof of concept and fellowship grants. Incubation is the main offer and comes in two forms, physical or virtual. An accelerator rung sits above that for scale-up with industry collaboration. Only the incubation rung has pages and rosters behind it; pre-incubation and the accelerator are named in the forum's own profile deck but have no page, no named cohort and no dates, so treat them as offers to ask about rather than open calls.

Selection runs through a published nine-step sequence that is the same for everyone. An application is pre-screened, then reviewed by a panel, then you sit an interview with an expert panel. In-principle approval follows, then negotiation of terms, then a signed agreement. Only after that does the forum start delivering services on campus. Support continues until graduation, at which point the business relocates off campus. The forum does not publish what its terms are, so whether it charges a fee or takes equity is something to settle at the negotiation step.

Who can apply

This is not a students-only centre. The published on-board roster is dominated by working businesses from the Meerut region: a farmer producer company, printing presses, a tax and compliance services firm, a pearl-culture LLP, a cyber-security company, a cow-dung recycling venture, a sports goods and leather exporter. A handful of student founders appear alongside them. The forum publishes no incorporation requirement, no geography gate and no category gate, and its roster includes companies based outside Meerut, so anyone building something can reasonably ask. In practice most of what it has backed is western Uttar Pradesh and nearby.

The forum is sector-agnostic. Its own sector chart puts agri tech well ahead of everything else, followed by software, manufacturing, edutech, food tech, waste management, design, deep tech and healthcare, with smaller counts in electronics, e-commerce, sports, electric vehicles, fashion, tourism and robotics. It also works with self-help groups in the Meerut region and keeps a display room on campus for their products alongside its incubatees'.

Facilities

The incubation floor sits in MIET's admin block. Each incubatee gets a cubicle with a computer and a personal locker; the team has separate cabins, and there is a conference room, a separate meeting room and round-the-clock internet and electricity. Common facility rooms hold Festo modular production benches. The fabrication section runs a lathe, a hydraulic pipe bender, a carbon-dioxide laser cutter and engraver, a fibre laser PCB milling machine, a screen-printing setup for PCB solder-mask coating and a universal testing machine. A rapid prototyping lab runs an FDM 3D printer that takes the usual plastics and carbon fibre.

Beyond its own rooms, the forum says incubatees reach MIET's Centre of Excellence laboratories. Those are the college's, not the forum's: an automobile workshop built with Bosch, an industrial automation lab with Festo, a Siemens IATC automation lab covering PLC, drives, switchgear, HMI and SCADA, IBM training labs, a Wipro UTLP lab, and embedded-system and linear-integrated-circuit labs with Texas Instruments.

Scale

The forum publishes named rosters with registration numbers and dates of association, which is more than most incubators of its size do. On 24 September 2026 those rosters listed 67 on-board incubatees, 26 graduated and 6 virtual, ninety-nine named entries in all, the earliest joining in October 2017. Its own headline figures do not agree with each other: the home page counter says over a hundred incubatees and over three hundred jobs generated, while its profile deck says eighty-seven incubatees, forty-nine current, and over two hundred and fifty jobs. All of these are self-reported and undated. It also reports over twenty-five signed mentor agreements and over twenty industry agreements, and says it has connected more than three hundred and fifty self-help groups in the region.

Who runs it

Rehan Ahmed is chief executive. The advisory panel is Vishnu Saran, chairman of the MIET group, Puneet Agarwal, its vice chairman, and Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar Singh, the campus director. Muthu Singaram and Dr. Bert Boerma are listed as mentors. The forum names partners including PUM Netherlands, Marwari Catalysts, Paytm, NEN, E2E Networks, AY Ventures, Starters' CFO, iBuild Innovation India and Rohilkhand Incubation Foundation, and has signed a commercial agreement with a consultancy in Mali to set up an innovation and incubation centre there.

How to apply and where to find it

Every page of the forum's site carries a Get Incubated button, and a site-wide ticker points at an open call it runs as LaunchPad @MIF. Either route, or a mail to the incubation inbox, starts the same nine-step process. The forum is at the MIET admin block on the Meerut bypass and lists a landline alongside two mobile numbers, with office hours Monday to Saturday. It keeps an events page with photo albums from awareness camps, the India Mobile Congress, the UP International Trade Show and a memorandum signing with the state government. It has no careers page.
