About Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare

The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) is the central government ministry responsible for agriculture policy, food security, and farmer welfare in India. Through its flagship scheme Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana-RAFTAAR (PM-RKVY), the ministry supports agri-entrepreneurship by providing financial assistance and nurturing the agribusiness incubation ecosystem nationwide.

RKVY-RAFTAAR operates through 24 RKVY Agribusiness Incubators (R-ABIs) established across the country, supported by 5 Knowledge Partners for programme implementation and mentorship delivery. Pre-seed startups can receive grants of up to INR 5 lakh, while seed-stage startups are eligible for up to INR 25 lakh based on milestone-driven evaluation during the incubation period. The programme provides physical incubation facilities, mentorship from domain experts, agripreneurship orientation and training, and structured networking with investors, industry professionals, and potential customers.
