What you get, who can apply and how to applyHide details
This is the Foundation's single offer, and the site says applications are open. It runs for 18 months and is built around regular review rather than a fixed syllabus: a startup gets one-to-one strategic sessions with domain mentors, quarterly milestone tracking and bi-weekly sprint checkpoints.
What you get
- One-to-one mentoring with domain-specific mentors across the full 18 months
- Go-to-market roadmapping, unit-economics modelling and competitive positioning
- Masterclasses and drills on venture finance, product development, customer acquisition, regulatory compliance and pitch decks
- Patent counselling, IPR filing and regulatory compliance support
- Makerspace, hardware prototyping equipment, prototyping labs, computational clusters, co-working desks and meeting pods on campus
- Access to Sri Sri University's research departments, analytical laboratories and testing facilities
- Demo days, closed-door pitch sessions and introductions to institutional investors and angels, plus help preparing investor updates and negotiating term sheets
- Guidance towards government grant routes, including seed funding channels under the national NIDHI framework; selected startups can receive grant support for prototyping
- A place in the alumni network after the programme, with continued mentoring
Who can apply
- The Foundation states no eligibility rule at all — it does not say whether your company must be incorporated, whether you must be based in Odisha, or whether it is open to founders from outside the university. Ask before you apply.
- Its stated focus areas are IT and hardware, advanced manufacturing and electronics, and its featured startups are mostly physical or applied ventures.
How selection works: not published. The three stages the site describes — pitching the concept, refining and prototyping, then launching and scaling — describe what happens inside the programme, not how candidates are picked.
How to apply: use the Apply For Incubation button on the Foundation's site, which opens a short enquiry form asking your name, email, phone number and what support you need, or write to ssuitf.itbi@srisriuniversity.edu.in. No deadline or intake window is published, so ask when the next cohort starts.

Recognitions & empanelments
Official approvals this incubator holds.
Only the NIDHI i-TBI sanction is an incubator credential. The four-star Institution's Innovation Council rating and the ARIIA listing shown on the site are Ministry of Education ratings of Sri Sri University for 2022-23, two years before this incubator was inaugurated.
DST NIDHI inclusive Technology Business Incubator (i-TBI)
The Foundation says it is sanctioned under the DST NIDHI i-TBI scheme, and it was inaugurated as a technology business incubator in February 2025 by the Minister of State for Science and Technology. The Department of Science & Technology's own published list of NIDHI inclusive Technology Business Incubators carries Sri Sri University, Cuttack, with thrust area IT, advanced manufacturing and electronics — the list names the host institute rather than the Foundation. Neither source states the sanction period, so whether the funding is still current cannot be told from published pages.
How to apply to SSU Innovation Tech Foundation
Before you apply
This incubator publishes almost nothing about who it accepts. There is no stated eligibility rule, no intake window and no deadline, and it does not say whether it charges a fee or takes equity. Treat your first contact as a fact-finding conversation and ask those questions directly rather than assuming the answers.
Check the fit first. The centre's thrust areas, as given both in its own announcement and in the Department of Science & Technology's published list of inclusive Technology Business Incubators, are IT, advanced manufacturing and electronics. If you are building hardware, an electronics product or something that needs prototyping and lab time on a campus, you are close to the centre of what this place is set up for. If you are a pure software or services business with no physical build, say plainly what you would use the incubator for.
How applications work
- The Apply For Incubation buttons open a short online enquiry form: full name, email, contact number and one free-text box asking what support you need.
- That free-text box is the whole of your first impression. Use it to say what you are building, what stage you are at, and the specific help you want — prototyping, lab access, intellectual property, investor introductions.
- You can also write straight to ssuitf.itbi@srisriuniversity.edu.in.
- Because no cohort dates are published, ask when the next intake starts and whether entry is rolling.
What to ask on the first call
- Whether incubation is open to founders from outside Sri Sri University, and whether your company must already be incorporated.
- Whether there is any fee, and whether the incubator takes equity.
- What the 18 months actually commit you to — the site describes quarterly milestone reviews and bi-weekly checkpoints, so ask what happens if you miss them.
- Which grant routes they would actually put you forward for, and what the centre's own role in that is.
- What lab and workshop time you get on the university campus, and how it is booked.
What reviewers are likely to look for
The Foundation frames its work as taking a concept through prototyping to a launched product, and it tracks progress against objectives rather than against a syllabus. So come with something concrete: what you have built, what you have tested, and what the next 18 months would produce. Its published portfolio leans towards physical and applied ventures — drones, energy hardware, materials, agri-biologicals, health delivery — so evidence of a working prototype or a pilot will read well.
About SSU Innovation Tech Foundation
SSUInnovation Tech Foundation is the inclusive Technology Business Incubator (i-TBI) of Sri Sri University, on the university campus at Bidyadharpur Arilo in Cuttack, Odisha. It says it is sanctioned under the Department of Science & Technology's NIDHI i-TBI scheme, and it was inaugurated on 28 February 2025 at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi by the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, alongside other technology business incubators. Its stated focus areas are advanced manufacturing, IT and hardware, and electronics.
How the programme works
The Foundation runs one offer: an 18-month incubation cycle. The site describes it as milestone-based mentoring rather than a taught course. A startup gets one-to-one strategic reviews with domain mentors, quarterly milestone tracking against agreed objectives, and bi-weekly sprint checkpoints, with advisors acting as a sounding board through pivots. Alongside that sit go-to-market roadmapping, unit-economics modelling and competitive positioning work, plus masterclasses and drills on business management, venture finance, product development, customer acquisition, regulatory compliance and pitch-deck preparation.
Two other strands run through the 18 months. The first is intellectual property and compliance: the Foundation says it supports patent counselling, IPR filing and regulatory compliance. The second is investor access — a VC Connects initiative and an Enablers platform that it says run matchmaking events, closed-door pitch sessions and demo days, with help preparing investor updates and negotiating term sheets. It also says it guides startups towards government grant routes, including seed funding channels under the national NIDHI framework, and that selected startups can receive grant support for prototyping. Graduating startups are told they stay in an alumni network with continued mentoring.
The Foundation describes its own process in three stages — pitching the initial concept, refining and prototyping it, then launching and scaling. That is a delivery roadmap, not a selection funnel.
Who can apply
This is the gap in the Foundation's published material, and it is worth being plain about. The site says applications for incubation are open, but it states no eligibility criteria at all: no incorporation requirement, no restriction to Odisha or to eastern India, no cut-off by stage or age of the venture, and no distinction between Sri Sri University students and founders from outside the campus. Nor does it publish a cohort calendar, an intake window or a deadline. It also does not say whether the programme charges a fee or takes equity. A founder should assume none of these and ask before applying.
The one signal about fit is the technology focus. The Foundation's own announcement and the Department of Science & Technology's published list of NIDHI inclusive Technology Business Incubators both give the same thrust areas for this centre — IT, advanced manufacturing and electronics. The startups it features span drone logistics, preventive healthcare, energy management, bioplastics, waste-to-value construction materials and agricultural biologicals, so the practical spread is wider than those three words suggest.
Facilities
The incubation space is on the university campus and combines co-working desks, meeting pods, a makerspace with hardware prototyping equipment, prototyping labs and high-speed computational clusters. Beyond its own rooms, the Foundation says incubatees get access to Sri Sri University's interdisciplinary research departments, analytical laboratories and testing facilities — that access runs through the host university rather than being the incubator's own equipment. Stated office hours are Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Track record
Read the numbers on this site carefully. Its counters claim more than 100 startups incubated and more than 50 enablers and industry alliances, both undated and neither broken down; no enabler or partner is named anywhere. The university's own incubator page gives a different figure — more than 40 startups — and attributes it to SSU Innovation Pvt. Ltd., the campus incubation company incorporated in 2018, which is a separate entity from this Foundation. Given the Foundation was inaugurated in February 2025, a three-figure count is more likely to belong to the university's older incubation activity than to the i-TBI. We are not publishing either figure as the Foundation's.
Six ventures are named as featured incubated startups: BonV Technology, which builds electric vertical take-off cargo aircraft for high-altitude terrain; Healthlounges Pvt Ltd in preventive healthcare and telehealth; Arc Relucent in industrial energy management; Ecosathi in bioplastics and agricultural sustainability; Ecoloop, which converts municipal waste into construction composites; and Genexture, which makes biological crop enhancers. Three of the six carry no real founder name on the page.
The site also displays a four-star Institution's Innovation Council rating for 2022-23 and an ARIIA listing for 2022-23 under a heading saying these were received by the Foundation. Both are Ministry of Education ratings at institution level, and both are for an academic year two years before the Foundation was inaugurated, so they describe Sri Sri University rather than this incubator.
Who runs it
No director, chief executive, manager or mentor is named anywhere on the Foundation's site, and there is no team page. The Foundation carries no separate careers page or events listing either, though it says it runs bootcamps, hackathons, demo days and networking sessions.
How to apply
Every Apply For Incubation button on the site opens a short enquiry form asking for your name, email, phone number and what support you need — it is a way to start a conversation, not a structured application. The alternative is to write to the incubator inbox, ssuitf.itbi@srisriuniversity.edu.in. Note that the incubation centre link on Sri Sri University's own website points at a domain that no longer resolves; ssuinnovationtech.co.in is the working site.
