St. Peter's Institute of Higher Education and Research (SPIHER)

St. Peter's Institute of Higher Education and Research (SPIHER), formerly St. Peter's University, is a private deemed-to-be university located in Paruthipattu, Thiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu (near Chennai). Originally established in 1993 as St. Peter's Engineering College, it has evolved into a comprehensive multi-disciplinary university.

Technology Business Incubation

SPIHER operates two distinct incubation programmes:

1. SPEC Technology Business Incubator (SPEC TBI)

• Trains young graduates to become entrepreneurs
• Develops indigenous technologies for commercialization
• Infrastructure includes: CNC Machines, Radial Drilling Machines, Rapid Prototyping Machines, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine)
• Focus on hardware, manufacturing, and engineering tech startups

2. SPIHER MSME Business Incubator

• Promotes technology and knowledge-based innovative ventures
• Provides grants for potential projects for technology development and commercialization
• Supports professionals and students in nurturing innovative ideas into market-ready solutions

Research Infrastructure

Beyond incubation, SPIHER has:

• Technology Business Incubator (TBI) with state support
• Science and Analytical Instrumentation Facility (SAIF)
• Centre for Nanotechnology
• Research centers across engineering, science, and management disciplines

Academic Programmes

SPIHER offers programmes in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Management Studies, Science, and Humanities — all approved by UGC and AICTE.
