Pixel2Path 2027 is an autonomous robotics competition hosted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, one of India's premier engineering institutions and a long-standing hub for deep-tech research, robotics, and student-led innovation. The challenge asks teams to build a robot that turns digital images into physical drawings on paper with no human intervention — a task that sits at the intersection of Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Path Planning, Robotics, and Mechatronics.
Who it's for Student and early-career builders in robotics, embedded systems, ML, and computer vision. Teams of 3 to 5 members compete, with one designated Team Lead handling official communication.
Format and rounds
Dataset and training Teams receive 100 image pairs two weeks before the event. On event day they get the full 5,000-pair dataset and a 60-minute window to train their model on Kaggle with GPU acceleration and internet toggled OFF. Training must be from scratch using only the provided dataset; data augmentation is allowed.
Hardware rules
Prizes A prize pool of ₹30,000 is on offer.
