How to apply

Submit a detailed business plan with the KIC enrollment form, an IP declaration worksheet and a statement of infrastructure needs. KIC reviews the executive summary first.

The pages give two different stay lengths. One says 18 months to begin with, with a further 18 months at KIC's discretion. The other says two years, with two extensions of 6 months each at the Institute's discretion.

A seed loan for working capital, available to incubated companies subject to funds and KIC's approval.

Best for: Companies admitted to KIC that need working capital.

What you get, who can apply and how to apply

KIC may provide seed loans for working capital, subject to the availability of funds, grants or schemes for this purpose. Admission to KIC does not automatically entitle a company to a loan.

  • Companies can apply after three months from admission

How selection works

KIC decides on merit. Companies with some revenue or customer orders are given preference, and so are promoters who put in capital. The loan is capped per company and carries interest. Its terms are set in a loan agreement under KIC's seed funding guidelines.

Virtual incubation lets KPRIET alumni and techno-preneurs use KIC as a platform for developing products without being on campus. Product development is coordinated and managed by faculty mentors. The annual registration fee is the same as for on-campus incubation.

Listed at entry 763 of the Ministry's published List of Host Institutes for the incubation component of the MSME Innovative Scheme, as "KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology" (COIMBATORE, TAMIL NADU), checked 24 September 2026.
