Host Institute, MSME Innovative Scheme (Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises)
Listed at entry 134 of the Ministry's published List of Host Institutes for the incubation component of the MSME Innovative Scheme, as "Galgotias University" (GAUTAM BUDDHA NAGAR, UTTAR PRADESH), checked 24 September 2026. This is the status that lets an innovator name the institute as their Host Institute when applying on the ministry's own portal. The list gives no approval date, no period and no status column, so whether the recognition is current cannot be told from it; and being listed is a capacity registration, not evidence that the institute has ever hosted an approved idea.

About Galgotias University
The Galgotias Incubation Centre for Research Innovation Startup & Entrepreneurs (GICRISE, also written GIC RISE) is the start-up incubator of Galgotias University. It runs from the university's Greater Noida campus on Yamuna Expressway, and it was set up in 2021.
What it is
The centre describes itself as a hardware-focused incubator with a sector-agnostic approach. It supports student start-ups by incubating them, and it offers pre-incubation support, from business idea preparation and validation through to help after a team graduates from the incubator.
What the centre offers
It provides co-working space, computer facilities and labs, including a FAB Lab, a Clinical Research Lab, a Graphics Lab, an EV Lab and 3D printing. Incubated teams get office space, internet access, product development support, mentor matching for technical and business questions, introductions to venture capital and angel investors, help with bank loans, legal and IP support, and help with company registration.
Who can apply
The centre's pages describe its incubation as aimed at student start-ups, and its induction programmes are described as being for students and faculty. The pages we read do not say whether founders from outside the university can apply, so check that with the centre before you plan around it.
Who runs it
The centre sits under Galgotias University. Its governing council includes the university's Chancellor, its CEO and its Vice Chancellor, and its mentor list includes people from the Atal Innovation Mission and the Department of Science and Technology.
Scale
The centre's own pages give self-reported figures, including 135+ startups supported till date, 65+ active startups and 40+ mentors. The university's home page gives a different figure, saying it has 100+ start-ups, so the two numbers do not match. The centre also lists an investor-pitch event held in March 2026 that offered grant and debt support to selected teams.
