Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies Udaipur Rajasthan

Choosing the right route

• Only students and faculty of GITS are named as eligible for the incubation centre. Outside founders should not apply.
• The Entrepreneurship Development Cell's events are open to GITS students. It does not publish a separate application route.

How applications work

• Submit the first application form as a hard copy to the centre. The institute says applications are taken offline.
• The first form asks for the idea title, a short background, how the technology works, what it does better than existing methods, the expenses involved, a timeline, and the applicants' course and year of study.
• Attach a short CV of no more than one page for each person involved.

How selection works

• The institute runs a screening committee and then an executive review of the idea.
• Shortlisted and final selections are posted on the college website and the centre notice board.

What reviewers look for

• A clear problem and a working idea, with its uniqueness stated.
• A realistic timeline and an honest view of costs and financial concerns.

Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies (GITS) is an engineering and management institute on Airport Road in Dabok, Udaipur, Rajasthan. It is affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University, Kota, and holds a NAAC A accreditation. Its Innovation and Incubation Centre is the institute's own incubator for student and faculty ideas.

How the incubation centre works

Approved teams get a place in the centre for one year. The centre offers office space, computers, a printer, internet connection, standard furniture, library access, a meeting area with projection equipment and a faculty mentor. The institute may grant two extensions of six months each, at its own discretion.

Who can apply

Students and faculty of GITS can apply, either alone or as a group. Groups can be from the same field or from different disciplines.

How selection works

Applications go to an internal screening committee. Shortlisted ideas are assessed against a second and third form, and the centre announces results on the college website and on its notice board.

Entrepreneurship Development Cell

The institute's Entrepreneurship Development Cell runs workshops, speaker sessions, business plan competitions and hackathons for students. Its stated aims include mentoring student founders, arranging interaction with industrialists and supporting budding entrepreneurs with consultancy and networking. The cell does not publish a standing application route, so ask the institute before expecting a place.

Before you apply

The incubation forms on the institute's website are dated 2021. Check with the centre that the scheme is still running before you prepare a full application.
