Fab Lab
A state-of-the-art facility equipped with precision machining (Vertical Milling Machine, CNC Router, CNC Lathe), cutting (Laser Cutting Machine, Table Saw), digital fabrication (3D Printers like Formlabs Form 3+, Original Prusa Mini+, Ultimaker S5, Creality Ender 5), electronics prototyping (PCB Pick and Place, SMT Reflow Oven, Digital Soldering Station), and testing/debugging tools (Digital Storage Oscilloscope, Digital Microscope, Flir Thermal Camera, Logic Analyzer) to support product development from concept to production.
Motion Capture Lab
Features a 12-Camera QUALYSIS Motion Capture System for high-precision motion analysis in biomechanics, sports science, animation, VR, robotics & UAV.
Battery Testing Lab
Equipped with Cell Tester (5V/12A, 8CH), Pack Tester (150V/200A, 2CH), and an Environmental Chamber (-40~150 deg C) for evaluating battery performance, efficiency, lifespan, and compliance with industry standards.

IPTIF is a Section 8 (not-for-profit) company incorporated by IIT Palakkad in 2020. It is one of 25 Technology Innovation Hubs (TIHs) established across India under DST's National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS), with a total committed budget of ₹3,660 crores nationally.
IPTIF's mandate is to create a vibrant innovation ecosystem for technology product development and tech-led entrepreneurship, concentrating on Intelligent Collaborative Systems (ICS) with emphasis on Energy and Safety sectors. Additional domains include healthcare, automotive, agriculture, and defence — all through the lens of cyber-physical systems (CPS).
State-of-the-art facilities include a Battery Testing Facility, Motion Capture Lab, Fabrication Lab, and a Skill Development Centre — all open-access to resident startups and researchers.
As of 2025–26, IPTIF has supported 70+ technologies, 40 technology products, 75+ IP and publications, and 73 startups, with 31 Entrepreneurs in Residence (EIRs). Ecosystem partners include Kerala Startup Mission, Bosch, Autodesk, IvyCap Ventures, Swinburne University, and Stanford University.
